February Bandsters?

I know there's a special section for this, but it doesn't seem to be too popular so I'll give it a whirl here..

Anyone here to be banded in February besides me?

My surgery date is February 15th.

Feel free to add me on Facebook for support, etc. =]

I go to see my doc today for my follow up appt and he is prob going to start me on mushy foods Friday. I am scared, the weight has just been coming off and I don't want to gain during what some on here are calling "bansters hell"... Any suggestions from those who had it it done early feb? Any feed back would be helpful. Thanks! Have a great day any one and congrats to us all for making a wonderful life changing decision !!

Try walking and see if it helps.

Luvbug' date=' I hope all goes well for you too. I am in my hosp bed attached to all kinds of things and....waiting..

Is waiting the hard part?[/quote']

Yes waiting wad do hard but I'm now in my private room doing ok

Well I'm officially.banded.....woohoo! I have some discomfort I'm guessing from the gas. I did my first walk in the halls it was good and weird but hey it made me burp which felt wonderful. The end tell me Dr Dietrick does not play with his patients and expects we.get the best care.... So far no complaints. I can go to bathroom with little help, I've drank 4 medicine cups of water and kept if down.

Tammy.how are u? Where are u?sassey how r u feeling?

Congrats!! Yes, every chance I got I walked and everytime the nurses would say "Dr. Dietrick's gonna be happy with you" lol. I had a wonderful experience there so hoping you do too!

I got a really bad shoulder episode probably day 3 all i could do is walk and I took some pain meds I was prescribed. Hang in there it does go away eventually.

Things going well on day 5, still having some gas pains, still on clear liquids... Feels like a rock in my stomach ... Overall good though... Down 13 lbs total from heaviest

I was banded on the 23rd!!! Still a little sore, but overall feeling really good!!

Good luck to you and I hope you have your surgery soon. I just came back from my 2 week post op appointment and I am down 15lbs since Feb 2nd when I started my pre-op diet so he said I was doing good. I go back on March 19th for my 1st fill so that will be exciting. I will keep you in my prayers and let's stay in touch.

that loss is just fantastic.. i hope that im like that with my weight loss. the sooner i can shed it and get walking again the better.

did the dr put any saline in your band when he operated??

Banded! I am now on the other side. I'm in recovery. Dying to go home. My butt is sore from this uncomfy cot but thats about it. Abdomin doesn't hurt much... They gave me the On-Q local anesthetic until Friday. I'm just very thirsty n tired. Congrats to all banded 2/2012!

have you tried heat packs on it?? maybe some gentle massage even?? i hope its gone soon. that sounds like the worst side effect to me.

I will be returning to the doctor's office tomorrow to be evaluated. I have apparently developed the left shoulder pain that is expected, and also an abdominal pain which is not in a place where it is common or normal. The incisions are actually healing well, but the pain has been with me constantly since yesterday, and the pain meds are doing nothing to even take the edge off the pain. Not a happy camper at this point, but will continue to tough it out...good to read that so many are feeling better and are even energetic!

Glad to hear most of the new bandsters are doing well! Sorry to hear about your pain, Sojourner, and I hope it turns out to be nothing to worry about.

So I became a February bandster with my surgery on Feb 1st and now I've closed out the month with my first fill on Feb 29th. I now have 3 cc in my band, am on liquids for the rest of the day and hope to start feeling the restriction when I transition back to mushies and soft solids. Can't wait to get this band working!
