  1. I had surgery on Wednesday to unlock my band and predisposition my stomach. Lucky there was no swelling of the stomach so they were able to re-lock my bad (if there was swelling we would have to wait 12 weeks to re-lock the band). My procedure was done laporoscopicly, 5 incisions (the Dr was nice enough to reopen my 4 previous incisions). I will be on a liquid diet for 5 day, followed by soft foods and then regular foods. On Sept 5th I have a check up and at that time we will discuss filling my band. I feel okay just sore and groggy from the surgery but I am glad I didn't wait.
  2. I'm currently writing this from my hosptial bed after several months of pain it was found that my stomach slipped over the lapband. Yesterday I had corrective surgery. Did the Feb 2012 bandsters every decide on a post area for us to keep in touch?
  3. Sorry for the delay in response but here's my update: visited the Dr and he removed ALL the fliquid from my band which felt great. I was schd. for an Upper GI today and we found that my stomach has slipped above my band so I have been schd. for surgery tomorrow at 11am. I'm very nervous but since I know what to expect I just want to get it over with. After surgery i will restart my lapband process

  5. I eat around 7ish and go to bed at 11pm. I find that i cant even drink anything after 8pm or my night will be hell...
  6. I'm 1 yr and 6mths post op, lost a total of 87lbs with only 13lbs left to my goal. Within the last 5 mths I've been experincing refulx and discomfort while eating. I was having sometime where threw up after anything I ate and I honestly waited to long to go to the Dr. When I finally did go he removed 2.5cc out of my band that was filled 5.5cc. I did gain 7lbs during the 6 weeks but the symptoms where gone. After the 6 weeks I got 0.8cc put back in and the symptons came back which resulted in 1cc being removed. I've felt fine for awhile but not I have the acidy feeling in my stomach and some mornings I wake up and vomit the food I ate the day before. (I don't think that's normal) Today I have pain on my left side and around my port. I dont know if something is stuck or if my band slipped. I'm trying to stay hopeful but it's very hard. I don't want to lose my lapband..... Well I have a 2pm today with Dr. Dietrick fingers crossed it something simple.
  7. Well good news no slippage of the band... Bad news my esophagus was tired from the band being too tight. So I went from 5.4cc's to 2.3cc's not really happy about this but my dr said in 6 wks we can bump me to up slowly. so now I have to be very careful how and what I eat. I have to say I feel so much better.
  8. Well headed to the Dr to see if my band slipped:(

  20. Update: I noticed my last blog has some errors...lol!! As of Sept 7, 2012 I have offically lost 50 lbs.. YIPPEE I am only 3 lbs away from breaking out of the 200's. I couldn't be more happier and to make my day even better I fit into my size 16 jeans... They felt so nice and I looked so good. I love seeing my old body and I'm pumped to see what another 30lbs gone will look like
  21. I have read there is a possibility that you can stretch out the top part of your stomach which can allow you to eat alot more and bascially makes the lapband pointless. That is why it is so important to measure all your food and stop at 1 cup. You may want to speak with you DR. or consider starting from the beginning,.
  22. So I'm still seem to be doing well with my lap band. The vomiting is few and far between. My husband believes its the way I am eating (mainly eating to fast). I am 7 lbs away from , 3lbs away from my half way mark and I am so happy. I have yet to buy new pants but I am getting to the point that they barley stay on. However I did have a pile of pants at the bottom of the closet that I hoped to one day would fit in again and that day is now I started at a size 22 and now I'm in a size 18 with wiggle room. I also have some size 16s that Im holding on to maybe once I leave 200 I will be able to get into them. Their are days that I just can't believe how well this lap band is working for me and it's a choice I will never regret. I hope everyone else is doing well and seeing results.
  23. Well since my last post I'm down to 212lbs I'm so close to ONEderland However since my last fill on July 19th eying has become pure misery. I cant drink large amounts at one time, I'm eating maybe 3/4cup of food and I'm throwing up pretty much after each meal. Recently I've been experiencing a pain while I eat and burp ALOT after food. Can the restriction cause gas or indigestion. Anyone else experience this?
