first upper gi and un-fill
I literally just got back from my doctors office and had a complete unfill. I have to call to make an UGI appt. I was having a lot of mucus that was not allowing me to eat properly. I hear a lot of stories here and there, and I just have had to put faith in my doctor because everything he's said and done so far has been good. As much as I love getting feedback from others I have to just breathe and go with my surgeon's decision, especially when he hasnt given me any indications to question him. Good luck!

February Bandsters?
I'm 63lbs down, hit my 1 year bandaversary last thursday!. I actually get asked if I'm going to get reconstruction surgery and it sorta makes me feel bad cause I didnt think I needed to but now that they point it out to me I'm thinking about researching it, but probably wont really consider it until I've at least gotten close to my goal and thats still far away.

February Bandsters?
Today marks 4 months post op and I am 46lbs DOWN! I am at 300 exactly...soon I will be in the 200's, somewhere I havnt been in almost 10 years. To know that I will never be in the 300's again was so emotional for me this morning I just broke down crying. I seen it numerous time on the forums but its true.....the only thing I would of changed with this surgery is to of done it sooner!

February Bandsters?
I hear you! I had the same thing happen but today I weighed in and have lost 4lbs. I was losing 0 for over 3 weeks so its such a great feeling to know THAT, cause I'm sure there will be more, is over with. Hang in there, reading a lot of the same stories as yours so the positive thing to get from that is we are doing all the right things because we are, for the most part, all having the same reactions.

February Bandsters?
Banded February 15, so today marks my 3 month follow up with 40lbs lost so far. Feeling ecstatic!! Every day isnt grand, but the days that are makes up for the ones that arnt. It's still such a learning experience, but I'm loving it. After hearing a couple people on the forums talk about C25K I'm proud to say I'm on Day 2, Week 1. After the first day I wanted to scream!!! I couldnt believe I successfully completed the first day, I thought for sure I wouldnt be able to run 1 min, and really thought doing it 8 different times was out of the question. Being banded was the best thing I could of done for myself!! Best wishes Bandsters!

After Surgery/going Back To Work
My surgery was on a Wednesday and I was back to work that Monday. I too have a desk job, but walking to the printer down the hall was helpful.

What Are Your Cant Haves
Both times was flour...I haven't tried, nor do I think I will, the corn ones. It's weird I can have bread but a bite of tortilla forget about it.
-
What Are Your Cant Haves
I cant do tortilla's. I tried it two different times, chewing really well the second time and still got stuck. So now I just have my chicken salad/tuna salad on a piece of toast.

First Fill Tomorrow
Each Doctor is different, I could eat till about 2 hrs before fill and then liquids the rest of the day. I had this done yesterday and am on regular food, doing good. Definitely feel the restriction just like right after surgery.

Do You Feel The Effect Of A Fill Immediately?
I had my first fill yesterday. For dinner (which was about 2 hrs after fill) I drank my Protein drink and could only finish half of it. This morning I had 2 scrambled eggs with cheese and after the second bite could really feel the restriction. I never could finish a meal in the 20 min I should....until today.

Feel Things Inside
I had that feeling but only the first week it was like an alien in there just moving around. Everytime I would move from side to side, mainly when trying to sleep. I've never been pregnant but I would say that might be what it feels like lol. Good luck to you

Drinking While Eating?!
Its so you do not dilute your food and are able to eat more then you should be. It was near impossible before the band. As soon as I was banded it is not normal to me. I just dont bring a drink with me when I eat dinner or I dont ask for one at a restaurant.

February Bandsters?
Hi there February bandsters! I am 3 weeks post op now. My first follow up appointment is today at 1pm. My incisions look really nice and I can see that the small ones will most likely be unnoticeable eventually. I can however see and feel my port when I stand, kinda weird, but a little inconvenience for what I have gone through and strive to get to is no problem. I am buying a bike this weekend so I can start riding with my husband. Can not wait for the doc appointment so I can be at ease with how things are. I do have an appetite, almost mimics what it was like pre banded. I still follow the rules but I can definitely feel those hunger pains. I think I'll get my first adjustment on the 27th but really wish it was sooner. I can now sleep with ease, even on my tummy

February Bandsters?
Had the same problem and slept on my recliner for about 3 nights straight. It all "moves" around and was uncomfortable. Your body will let you move around more and more. I found myself on my stomach two nights ago FINALLY cause im a tummy sleeper. Hand in there!

February Bandsters?
I got a really bad shoulder episode probably day 3 all i could do is walk and I took some pain meds I was prescribed. Hang in there it does go away eventually.

February Bandsters?
Congrats!! Yes, every chance I got I walked and everytime the nurses would say "Dr. Dietrick's gonna be happy with you" lol. I had a wonderful experience there so hoping you do too!

Still Getting Neck Pain, 1 Month After Surgery.
I get this sometimes, I chalk it up to I just ate to much. I'm still learning to eat slower...I've done that a couple times and get full before my cup of food is up. If i eat faster I get the shoulder/neck pain.

I'm 3 Weeks Post-Op
I had the same thing happen to me...I drank MAYBE 8 oz in a day for 2 days straight. I got worried so I forced myself to drink more but it goes away and you get an apetite again. My first mushie was cream of wheat and I tell you it was heaven. Good luck!

I'm 3 Weeks Post-Op
I too am 3 weeks post op today...the first probably 1 1/2 weeks I felt full fast. Now I can definitely eat more then a cup if I tried. Last night I had a stuck episode and was so pissed at myself because it was my fault. I got cocky and didnt chew like I needed to. Got my head back in the game today and will never trail off the road again. My port sticks out a little...definitely can feel it, skin is itchy today and port site is sore. Being over 300lbs i never thought I'd see my port, especially at this time...maybe just still swollen. First fill is next Tuesday looking forward to exercising more soon just so I can feel better about my journey. Good luck!

February Bandsters?
I started driving last week (so 2 weeks post op). I was told not till after I'm done taking my pain meds and when i feel comfortable. I didnt use the meds but the first three days home. The only pain I had was gas pains...and they went away totally after day 6. Day 7 was fabulous...I woke up 1000% better. Sleeping had been very uncomfortable. I'm a tummy sleeper and have yet to be able to go back to my normal routine but its getting easier every night.

February Bandsters?
Also, tomorrow makes 3 weeks post op, and i've noticed the last couple days a knot if you will above my largest incision. I told a couple colleagues and they worried me saying it was a hernia. Called the surgeons office and they were quick to ease my mind. It is just the port, a lot of the times it gets close to the surface because of swelling, even at 3 weeks im still healing. I also get bruises on my stomach in random areas....just a lot of weirdness but lucky its all normal.
