  1. I like the EAS advantedge shakes - choc, French vanilla, caramel latte... All are pretty good, super low carb/sugar and have 17g of protein
  2. Hi everyone!!! I've been so out of the loop, my husband had back surgery about 3 weeks ago, so I've been super busy taking care of him... Hope everyone has been doing well! I lost 23 lbs total, but have been stuck at same weight for the last 10 days... To be honest though , I have not been getting any exercise in next week I plan on beginning a couch to 5 k plan and want to run a 5k by end of June ... I just had my 2nd fill and am up to 5.6 cc in my 10cc band Finally, saw a nutritionist who recommended My Fit Foods as a way to stay on track with healthy portion controlled meals... I'm doing the 3 day challenge right now, and if all goes well, I'll try out the 21 day challenge... Hoping to get off this plateau and lose another 10lbs by memorial day!!!
  3. I'm in Austin TX, banded on 2/24 going great so far!!!
  4. I started mushies on Thursday , to be honest , I actually felt a lot better! I think getting some solid protein in was helpful... I had scrambled egg whites, cottage cheese, hummus, and tuna salad Still eating everything in very small portions, sometimes can't finish all, but overall feeling really good
  5. Try Amitiza, it's a prescription drug for chronic constipation ... Your dr will have to prescribe it
  6. Hi Anna! Yeah, I'm very happy with true results I had my 2 week post op today, down 16 lbs total... Do you go to the support group? I haven't been yet but will probably go this month
  7. It was one of the many fad diets I've tried in the past... It definitely works, since you are on only diluted juice for 2 days... you should look into the 5 day pouch test - seems alot of people on here are doing it, and it makes sense... liquids first 2 days, then mushies for 2 days, then back to small portions.... kind of like a condensed version of post op....
  8. My mom was 30 BMI and was self pay, and we both got banded on 2/24. Our surgery was with True Results Austin , costs 9,900 for self pay, and they will take patients at 30 BMI or higher ... They use the allergen lap band with low profile port and have amazing aftercare program. You can definitely find a surgeon to band you at 34 BMI in the states
  9. I had the same question about the gum - why can't you shew it? I'm big on gum....
  10. I am back to work full time today.... I work as a dental sales rep, so in and out of car today... I had my surgery on 2/24, so really a week off of work I probably could have gone back sooner
  11. I am in dental sales, so in and out of car all day , not too intense, but I was grateful to have a week off to recover!!
  12. Things are going great ! I feel good, back to work tomorrow , and I have my post op follow up coming up on Friday I'm gonna start a light exercise program this week, and hope to start Zumba next week if surgeon ok's it after appt. How are you doing? Congrats on the weight loss, keep it up!
  13. Hey all!!! I was banded on 2/24, and have lost 16lbs with pre op diet and post op, so far... I started using MFP recently to journal my food, and for exercise... I'm looking for some buddies on their for support and encouragement ... Any takers? User name: quinnmc79 Add me!

  15. Things going well on day 5, still having some gas pains, still on clear liquids... Feels like a rock in my stomach ... Overall good though... Down 13 lbs total from heaviest
  16. also, if you feel comfortable, you can talk to your employers HR person, maybe they can give you more insight about the insurance plan, and let you know if any changes were made to coverage from 2011 to 2012
  17. my nutritionist has advised me to take chewable viatamins and chewable calcium plus D... I was just wondering if there's a difference between gummy and chewable vitamins? has anyone had an issue using gummy vitamins?
  18. So sorry for your situation. What a heartbreak! Unfortunately, a lawyer won't help in this cases, since that info is readily available to you as an insured. You could have called to check if your plan covered WLS. Unfortunately there is nothing you can do to either doctor or insurance company. Can you self pay or finance? The sucky thing is there are quite a few companies that opt,out of covering WLS of any kind in their employee health care regardless of comorbidities and health issues. If your company opts out, than there is nothing any insurance carrier or doctor can do to help you get coverage.
  19. Ugh, banded 2/24 and can't start full liquids til Friday!!!
  20. I think u will be alright, they seem to find hernia in everyone who goes in for egd ... At least everyone at the true results austin support group who went in for egd had hernia and qualified for hiatal program...
  21. Me too! I think! I have what you would call bubble guts... Lots of gurgling and weird noises! I can't have full liquids til Friday!!! I've been sipping on broth from my moms homemade chicken soup and that seems to help ... Cant stomach the store brand chicken broth... Just ordered the unjury protein chicken soup which is a protein broth, should get here tomorrow ....
