I would venture to say, probably not a slip. However, if you are worried, see you surgeon. Karen

Were you a little to tight from a fill, or did you have a cough like from a cold ?

Chances are it is not a slip, but you can always call your Dr. and describe the issue. He can tell you his opinion.

If you can eat at all it's ok. I had my band slip about 4 years ago and they had to go in and fix the band. It's if you cannot even keep Water down that there's a major issue.

Yes, your band could have slipped from the bad cough, but just being sick (especially with head and chest congestion) can cause similar symptoms.

My band slipped (probably due to my untreated hiatal hernia) and the symptoms were constant chest pain (so bad I thought it was a heart attack), inability to even drink Clear Liquids, reflux and a sore throat from the reflux. A complete unfill and 6-week rest period fixed it.

I know of other bandsters with band slips whose slippage symptoms were intermittent rather than continuous like mine. You might want to call your surgeon's office and tell them what's been going on, just for your peace of mind. If necessary, your surgeon can do an upper GI study to make sure everything's in the right place.

Good luck!

Jean

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
