Eating salad??

Recommended Posts

I eat salad now with no problems, but I was afraid to start for a while. I don't remember when I first realized that it really didn't give me any problems at all. I'd say go ahead and try it whenever (assuming you're back on real food) and just be cautious after fills. Some people do seem to have trouble with lettuce and other raw vegetables.

I don't know if this is good or bad....but I can eat everything. I was banded in December 2005 and I have lost 15 pounds thus far. The key is to chew...chew..chew. I eat salads all the time (with meat at that). I just eat a small bowl. Good luck!!:hungry:

I was banded six months ago, and I can still eat ANYTHING! Just not as much of it!

I couldn't eat salad at first, it took a few months before I could get it down. Then I found that if I have crunchy in it, like croutons or crackers, for some reason it goes down better. I love all kinds of cheeses too, especially feta and blue. Just go slow and chew well, making sure your lettuce is particularly well chewed.

I started on salads on my 4th week.

I live on them now.

I can eat salad - since about six weeks post-op. I can eat almost anything as long as I chew it really well. It doesn't take much of anything to fill me up, though.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
