New Here Looking For Lap Band Surgery Answers! :d

Recommended Posts

Hi my name is Samantha.

I am a Police Dispatcher in East Texas.

I have always thought about getting the Lap Band but only recently become VERY serious about it.

This place seems to be very informative in the field of Lap Band!

I am in the beginning stages looking into Surgeons and seeing if my insurance will pay for something like this.

Looking forward to chatting with y'all!

Good luck on you Quest. Each insurance is different in what they cover and how much information you need to give them to qualify. My insurance need 3 months of diet history, some need 6 months, some none. Some things you may need to pay out of pocket before even get to insurance decsion, for me that was the nutritionist and the psych eval. Anyway good luck and Happy New Year

Yep, first step is to call your insurance to see if they pay for it. They will most likely have an approved list of surgeons and others that are out of network. Make sure you choose someone who's in network. (I found a surgeon I thought I would like, then checked with my insurance before I schedule the appt to make sure it was covered)

My ins requires me to wait 6 months, do a psych eval, and see a nutritionist...my 6 months is up in January, so I'm thinking surgery will be February. I'm still on and off the fence as far as whether I will actually have the surgery. I'm still learning about it all and I don't want to make the wrong decision for me.

Welcome to these forums...you will find all the help you need here!

Thank you Ladies! I am just so ready for a change. I have seen some of the before and after photos on here and I am completely amazed by the transformations.

Suzbuni-I think my insurance pays 1/2 and makes you show proof of (6) months of diet. THAT...I can do. I know many places out there also offer financing.

TexasDianne-I found this place in Dallas that checks with your insurance for you. I guess if they aren't approved I'll just contact my insurance and ask them if they have a list of approved surgeons.

Thanks for The Welcomes and Help y'all :)

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
