If you're not hungry and are losing weight, why do you want a fill? You're not supposed to feel full, you are supposed to feel satisfied. I'm a year out and I had one tiny fill 5 months out, only to realize that it's not for me and I'm fine losing weight without fills. Though my body's being really stupid now, but I know a fill is not going to help with that. You should only get a fill if you're hungry between meals and are not losing weight. In another of your posts I saw you had to set a timer to remember to eat, well not eating at all is not going to make you lose weight.

I would be more concerned on healing right so you can get your exercise on. Just be patient, focus on your habits changing and not purely on restriction. You are doing great so far. Just keep going.

Fast results are never really part of the lap band experience. Some people do lose rather fast and some don't. We all lose weight differently. But expecting to shed pounds quickly from a first fill isn't practical. For some it takes several fills to find the right level of restriction. I for example am losing weight without fills. I am fine with that. I prefer it because I feel like I am really focusing on my new habits.

You will get to your goals. To me if you lose it to fast you easily can go back to your old habits, from my experience, losing slowly, helps you keep it off long term.

Either way. Good luck and keep doing what you are doing.

A fill will not make you lose weight. A fill makes you feel less hungry (if you are) so that YOU eat less. So therefore if you're within your calories and not hungry a fill isn't going to do anything except make it harder for you to eat. You are not going to lose the weight overnight. So don't get discouraged.

You could try celebrating each little success (with non-food rewards) so that you are identifying and acknowledging your great achievements. Feeling like a winner will help keep you on track for the long term.

Good luck!

I was banded 5 weeks ago and have already had one fill. It didn't really make me feel any different to be honest. I lost 31 pounds in a month and now I'm starting to slow down. It's a little disappointing not seeing the numbers go down. I've started eating solids and I wonder if that's why it's slowing down. I know I just need to be patient. Good luck to you and just follow the plan.

@Suemile.. Thanks . I do feel good. I don't THINK Im hungry. But I did notice I was more antsy yesterday and today .. I'm a stay at home mom so Im not sure if I'm actually hungry or just bored . Ugh.

Unfortunately, the band doesn't do anything for head hunger. If someone invents a band for head hunger, I'll be first in line!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
