Is This Normal? Ok? Not? Lost Only 18lbs After My Lap Band Surgery

Recommended Posts

I started pre-op diet last week of November and was banded on 12/7. Since that week in November until now I have lost 18 lbs. I read so many of these blogs and some people are just SHEDDING pounds while others lose much slower. I just wonder: is my 18 lbs OK? Normal? Not enough, too much??? I wanted to either do the happy dance or get my act together LOL please help!

Go ahead and do the happy dance. We all lose at our own rate...you're doing great.

I lost really quick in the beginning and then it slowed down some. My surgeon says I am still ahead of where I should be. Enjoy it if you are not having any other problems, then it's normal. We all lose at different rates and it's really affected by how much we have to lose.

Considering you haven't had any normal food in a while I would say that's normal.

Some people can continue from surgery.

Enjoy the moment!

I was banded on 10/27 and have lost 28, including what I lost during preop. I.am okay with that and hoping slow weight loss decreases my chances of looking like a delayed balloon :)

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
