Almost three weeks post-op and still have port pain

Recommended Posts

My port pain has gotten worse the last two days. Did I do something to it or just over do it? I feel great otherwise, but I have a sharp pain there like I pulled a stitch out or something inside. I am so scared something is going to happen to my port.

I'm three weeks out as well and still at a constant level 3 pain in my mid section. I had a single inscision surgery at my belly button which has healed nicely and no issues there. But the 2 inches above my belly button are still very sore and it goes across my whole stomach, not just the side with the port. I also feel that "pulled stitch" sometimes. Anyone else have this post up? Is it just part of the healing process?

Good to know I'm not alone. My other small incisions are basically nothing. It's just the large one where the port is. I feel it kind of like a burning when I move wrong or bend over.

I think it is just a part of the healing process.I too remember that pain. I moved around too quick, and i would experience that same pain

I am still having the same pain as you all. I thought I was ripping apart. Went to my first post op today and he said everything looked really good.

I was curious about how long I should expect my port pain to last and my doctor said 4 to 6 weeks.

Hope that helps.

I was in pain there for awhile. I didn't think I would ever be able to wear jeans again, lol. Now I am a couple months out and wear jeans all the time but they are a couple sizes smaller :). Seriously though I had pain there for 3 weeks or so. I went to the dr thinking for sure something had gone wrong but I am fine now. Good luck!

This is good to hear! I was checking in to ask this same question. The pain itsn't too bad, but it is there. I am thinking it is part of the healing process as well.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
