IF you have two insurances can they pick the secondary 1st?

Recommended Posts

<_< Hello! I have been thinking and researching Lap Band for a year now. I went to (a second seminar) recently near my home. The hospital is a "excellence" one my insurance(s) require. However, I have medicare -as primary and secondary Tricare. I was told Tricare would accept me sooner/faster. But at the seminar they are requiring a higher BMI 40 and 3 months of diet-exercise-nutritional behavior modification. I am 39.9 BMI with 4 severe problems-Asthma/Apnea/Osteoarthritis/High Blood pressure. (all over 5 years); lost weight twice with Atkins (regained 80+back within a year of each)effort. Can I make a appointment and (discuss this privately) with the hospital; or should i go with the flow? My main support person is out of state-a adult daughter/we are each others-support person(s) and really had hope to do this privately-with-one-another. Any ideas appreciated!

Rule of thumb is they will primary first and then what they don't pay, they then bill secondary. You would have to ask your secondary insurance if you can bill them as primary and if so, when you register for your surgery have them just bill the secondary.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
