Protein shakes (Canadian)...anyone have a recommendation?

Recommended Posts

I've seen a lot of Protein Shake posts but most are from American members to this forum, can anyone recommend a good chocolate Protein shake and where to buy it, costs etc? Thanks Teresa

costco has a powdered Protein powder called Muscle Milk the can be mixed with Water or skim milk. I like it, but there are many Protein

drinks on the market and each one has it own devoties, so you just have to findd the one you like.

check out www.visalus.com they recently opened up in canada and the web site will put you in touch with a local rep. The Visalus shakes are by far the best of the best when it comes to nutritional supplements. I had my lap band 2 years ago and found visalus about 3 months ago-- it was a life saver for me... Good luck

I read this suggestion on the site. I buy Premier chocolate Protein Shakes at costco with 30 grams of Protein. They are around $25 case for 18. I mix mine with frozen strawberries and a dash a vanilla. You can find them by the pharmacy.160 calories, fat 3 g, carbs 5 g, Fiber 3 g, sugar 1 g

About a week post surgery and I needed some calories but couldn't stomach the idea of drinking any more of my pre-surgery chocolate Protein shakes...desperation set in, Then, I discovered Jugo juice Protein Shakes and they are terrific. I could only drink about half of one at a time (170 calories with loads of protein and lots of fresh fruit) but they really taste great and made me feel so much better. Tropical mango was amazing! Good luck. I wish I could have them now...but they are off the diet list.

I have yet to find a Protein Drink besides milk or yogurt that I can tolerate. The taste of whey makes me gag

The costco Premier ones are my favorite. Lucky I go to the US to get my shakes for variety and price. The Trick is you really want shakes that have the isotate in them as they we will fill you up faster and you won't get hungry for awhile. In Canada the costco Premier don't have the isotate as they do in the US. GNC is good for Muscle Milk. In the US I hit Costco or Vitimin World. I also like Lean Body as they are 25 g Protein, 1 g sugar & carb. In the US Wallmart is also great too. Keep up the great work.

Cheers,

Kristi

I agree about the Premier Protein mixed shakes at costco, perhaps they are available somewhere else as well? It's $27 for a case of 18.

How much is shipping? Perhaps if you bought it online it would save you some hassle

The costco ones are great! It's like a little drinking box- they travel so well! GNC also has some pre-made ones called Total Lean - -they are good too! Shoppers Drug Mart has started carrying a line called BodyLogix - they are also pre-made

I only did Protein shakes for the first month of being banded. I used the Presidents Choice brand from Loblaws.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
