I was banded on Friday 10/21, and was wondering about putting anything on the incisions to make them heal better? My Dr. used Dermabond (super-glue), and said to not clean it or rub on it for a couple of days...

Did anyone put some antibioptic on it? Or what? just kinda freaks me out to not put any medication on a wound!! LOL

I had my surgery on 9/28, I didn't put anything on them and they healed real nice...no problems at all!

No, you need to follow your Dr's instructions exactly. And make sure that you keep it dry. Antibiotics and other creams are unnecessary and can impede the healing process.

My doc said do not put anything on them at all. The glue should wear off naturally and the wounds will heal just fine.

I also had derma bond on my incisions. Banded 10/12. They have healed nicely. No need for ant biotic ointment. I just don't scrub the area when I shower, just let the Water clean them. Surgeons know what they are talking about, especially when it comes to wounds that they create!

I was banded on 9/15, and waited until mine were healed, which was about a month and am now putting Vitamin e oil on them at night. It's too oily to use with my good clothes, so I won't use it during the day. It's supposed to help "fade" them. I've used it on the incisions from my gallbladder, hysterectomy, and bunion surgery - and they are barely noticeable. It also helps with the itching!

Stick to doctors order. I was banded on 9/22 and I waited until my surgeon told me it was okay to take or put anything on my incisions.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
