Sleeping on my stomach

Recommended Posts

Hi, I was banded Sept. 2.

For the past week I've been falling asleep on my back but waking up face down, on my stomach. Anyone else sleep directly on their stomach? If I try to when I am getting ready to sleep, it hurts too much, but end up waking up that way....

Just wondering, thanks!

I think you are fine, I was sleeping on my tummy by that point as well, although I used a body pillow to kind of give a little support and cushion so I would be directly putting pressure the painful area. Good Luck!

It took me a while before I could comfortably sleep on my stomach. I was fine while I was asleep but when I got up I had a terrible pain in my muscle above my port. I guess if you can sleep soundly with no pain you are lucky lol. Congrats btw!

I think your fine. I am a diehard stomach sleeper. I slept on my stomach from day one. Felt the incisions but not really pain- I have a very high pain tolerance. Congrats on your surgery!

I sleep on my side and I'm conscious about it. But i do lay on my port and i use a pillow under and it doesn't bother me, i'm 2 weeks out.

I'm a stomach sleeper but for the first 9 days I was very conscious about not laying on my stomach. I would either lay on my back or on my right side that was it. But for this last week I have been waking up in the middle of the night on my stomach. It doesn't hurt it just feels weird. So if you can handle it I say go for it.

I'm the same - I go to sleep on my back or side but always wake up lying on my tummy. I haven't had any negative sideaffects from that.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
