Did my band slip or something else?

Recommended Posts

I'm almost 2 years post op and for the last month or so I've been having stomach issues. My stomach has been really tender and sore. It swells up to where it almost looks like I'm 6 months pregnant. I'm all of the sudden having trouble eating. Most of the time I have alot of trouble and throw up atleast once every couple of days. No matter what I eat. Every few days I'll have a good day and have no problems. Even if I eat the same things. Could my band have slipped? Anyone else experience any symptoms like this or hear of anyone having the same problems? I haven't had a fill for almost a year and haven't had any problems until recently. The doctor that did my surgery no longer takes me insurance so I'm in the process of getting in to see a new lapband doctor. I also have an appointment tomorrow to see a GI doctor. Any ideas?

if you have an infection, inflammation or swelling in your stomach it could be pushing on your tubing thus pushing more of the fill that was in your tubing into your band thus causing more restriction.

Where exactly is the swelling/ Your belly button area, actual stomach area ( right below your rib cage on your right), etc?

Its good you are seeing a doctor. If there is some sort of infection hopefully an unfill ( so your not irritating your stomach) and some meds will help.

I know when I go for surgery like Lipo on my stomach it makes my band tighter.

Just an idea.

Hi:

How are you feeling? What did the doctor say?

Hope all is well.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
