They say that's usually a sign that you're full and you should stop eating.

Yes, I get it too (four months post op.) I find it happens when I eat too quickly and I am learning to SLOW DOWN (yelling at myself there :P )

That shoulder pain could be gas related - if you are taking in a lot of air while eating it could be causing that sharp left shoulder pain. You should ask your doctor about it.

Hi. I found out this was vagus nerve pain. Look it up because I can't really explain it well. But it happens when I eat too fast or too much.

Hello Menis,

I get this pain when I eat to much or to fast. I spoke to my Dr. I was told that I was lucky as most people do not get to feel the pain that lets them know they are over eating or eating to fast. Sad to say but I LOVE this pain. To me this pain is my wake up call to SLOW DOWN.

Use this pain as a tool that will make you slow down.

I wish you well.

Mary

it's the result of either irritation post abdominal surgery, eating too fast or getting too full related to the Phrenic Nerve. The Phrenic Nerve passes on either side of the neck and down through the diaphragm. It's the nerve responsible for the hiccups we get also. I know that when I get that pain, I've eaten too much. It hurts so bad, I take note to try not to do that again!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
