Hi I am 6 days post op on liquids now for almost 21 days - I am gazing longingly at the cat's food at this point - & if I have one more Bariatric Advantage shake or broth or pudding or pureed whatever I am going to puke!

Sandy Cheeks I am with you on that one. I was banded on Aug 11. Did the 2 week pre-op liquids. After surgery I thought I only had one more week on liquids and my doc said "No, I want you to do full liquids for 2 weeks". Uggh!! Oh well I will make it. On the bright side the pounds are dropping fast! Hang in there. It will be over before you know it.

Hey Sandy, I am with you on this one 2. I am so tired of liquids but whenever I try to eat anything semi-solid, it gets stuck so I have to stay on liquids until my 7-week check up. I had my surgery on July 12th. I am sooooooooooo hungry. I am in the process of looking up recipes to see what I can find to help me with Protein, Calcium, and fillness. So that is a suggestion that I have for you to look for new ways to get full. The options are limitless. Check out the website. The LapBand.com, you will have to register for the site but once you're in, their is a link for recipes and they have several on there. Well good luck.

I just made some very "wet" tuna salad just a little low fat mayo salt and pepper and feel much, much better! I know I wasn't suppose to do this yet but hey it's not like I swallowe a steak that's going to get stuck. I keep thinking that it's not the fullness that keeps me from eating it is just that I love to cook and eat - I love the whole taste thing and the chewing and the texture I mean for me a piece of french bread slathered in butter is awesome anytime it's got nothing to do with hunger so I am sort of questioning whether I have done the right thing here!

No I'd eat the cat food before puking ;-)

That's another way of loosing weight. There is nothing scarier than an anorexic fat person.

I soooooooooo agree with you Sandycheeks, I am so over this liquid diet. Unfortunately, I was banded 8/11/11 and as of tomorrow I will have another week of this. I not saying I want to inhale everything I see, I just can't wait to chew something with texture. Goodness I can't wait until puree week!!!

So I was banded the day before ou and I started soft foods this past Monday and am doing great - can't wat much and am careful about what - but works fine for me. I think they just don't want people to be stupid and try and eat a steak or a chicken - I made very moist tuna salad with low fat mayo I can only eat a few forkfuls and am full - also cottage cheese is great!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
