I recently got banded and did a lot a research before hand but now I'm thinking I may have made the wrong choice. How long have you been banded for? It seems like not many people have made it 5 years or more without having to get their band removed due to issues with the band.

Why do you think you made the wrong decision? When did you have your surgery- How far out from it are you?

I had my surgery on Wednesday and feel great. The only reason I feel like I made the wrong decision is the fear of having to get the band removed or re done. Seems like there are a lot of people that this happens too.

In those cases those are the ones who have not followed the rules most likely or gave up on the band. The successful stories of 5+ years have made it work for them and have followed the rules almost completely, w/ very few falters!!!!!!

You've only been banded a short time, and you're reading a website intended for people who are having issues or who need assistance of some sort. For every post on this site from someone who is having an issue, there are literally THOUSANDS of bandsters out living their lives who are having no problems at all. Chances are good you won't have any trouble, so relax and enjoy the ride. Make the most of your band, focus on losing the weight you want to lose, and cross the "what if?" bridge when - and IF - you ever need to.

Worrying about having the band removed due to problems years down the road is like telling your new boyfriend you can't keep seeing him because you might break up one day. Don't waste your energy on that sort of stuff. :)

Good luck with your journey!

Dave

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
