About every hour (almost exactly to the hour) I get real bad nausea. It will even wake me up because it happens while I'm sleeping too.

All I've been having is unsweetened iced tea, sugarfree pudding/jello, and sugar free apple juice.< /p>

I'm taking a disolvable tab by my mouth for nausea as well as suppositories. Not sure what else I can do?? Should I just vomit and get it over with or keep fighting it - been trying hard not to vomit (havn't vomitted yet).

Thanks for any tips or advice.

Ginger is supposed to work wonders. Maybe they have it in a liquid form at a health food store? Also, while pregnant I used the sea sickness bands around my wrists (go to a drugstore and ask) . They are supposed to push on a nerve on your wrist that helps control nausea. If you are really bad though I would call your surgeon.....maybe, he can prescribe a different medicine (they have a patch too that goes behind your ear).

It could be the pain medication. You may want to consider to using something over the counter for the pain instead of pain medication with narcotics in it. I've had nausea issues too and as soon as I stop the prescription pain meds the nausea goes away. I think you should call your doctor and see what he/she says.

Sorry you're feeling this way. Having nausea is so uncomfortable.

Take care and let us know how you're doing.

I agree it could be the pain meds. Also, did you do SF stuff before? It could be the artificial sweetener. Call your surgeon's office and let them know what is happening. They can change up your medications, which might help. Peppermint tea is helpful for nausea as well.

Hope you feel better soon!

Entirely normal after an abdominal surgery and also when you're on any morphine based painkillers. What you're doing is the right thing, but I agree, ask for stronger nausea medication if you need it, dont vomit whatever you do. I was given zofran whilst having chemo its VERY effective.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
