  1. Thanks for the ginger tip -- I am currently wearing a patch behind my ear from surgery I'm sure it's worn out now but I'll pick some more up.. May have to call the doc
  2. About every hour (almost exactly to the hour) I get real bad nausea. It will even wake me up because it happens while I'm sleeping too. All I've been having is unsweetened iced tea, sugarfree pudding/jello, and sugar free apple juice. I'm taking a disolvable tab by my mouth for nausea as well as suppositories. Not sure what else I can do?? Should I just vomit and get it over with or keep fighting it - been trying hard not to vomit (havn't vomitted yet). Thanks for any tips or advice.
  3. I get banded tomorrow at 11:00am AZ time. I am so scared. I have to work until 9:00pm tonight and hopefully that will distract me. Never been under full anasthesia before, I am really a nervous wreck! I just want it to be over. I broke my foot last week and lo and behold Aunt Flo came to visit today... man, stressing out.
  4. Glad to hear all of you recently banded friends are doing well!! Keep on feeling better.
  5. Thanks everyone for encouraging words. I am going through with the procedure as planned - if I lose my job over it I'll probably go look for a lawyer because I'm pretty sure that's not legal. Worst case scenario I will find another job. I'm great at what I do, I'm not worried about it. I'm already a happy person, and outgoing and very goofy -- add on top of it the added happiness and self esteem boost of finally losing weight and I'm sure I'll find one in a week or two.
  6. Starting my pre-op diet on the 14th, 2 weeks before surgery on the 28th. I'm starting to get super excited! I am already planning my work outs once I get to a weight that my knees don't hurt after working all day (I am a hair stylist). My friend's boyfriend trains professional fighters, he's going to help me pick a good protein shake supplement to use for my diet based on the criteria the doctors gave me. I have run into one problem though -- I have been told that when I take 7 days off of work for surgery and recovery, I may not have my job anymore. A bit upset about this - but I'm not willing to put my health on the backburner for a job. No thanks. Good riddance, imo
  7. I had a hiatal hernia and insurance is covering most of it for me because of that. I am also self pay because my mom's insurance can't cover it because her employer has an exception for bariatric. Having the hiatal brought my cost from $12,500 to $5,500. Hope this helps Shauna
  8. Hi, I'm Erica. Banding on July 28th, 2011. First Dr. appointment was on July 1, 2011. Self paying most of it, the rest is covered by insurance to repair a hiatal hernia. Extremely nervous but very excited.
