Life time of 15,000 from insurance

Recommended Posts

Just spoke with my insurance company..They are willing to pay up to 15,000 life time max for the lap band..How much does this usually cost? I always have a fear that I will have complications and then not be able to have it removed...Any input would help

I hear most self-pay patients say its around 10,000 dollars.

Self-pay and what an insurance company is billed are two entirely different things.

The best way to find out is ask your surgeon's office what they bill. But there is also how much the hospital and anesthesiologist bills.

You will have follow-up tests in years to come as well. My surgeon wants me to have an upper GI every year.

I paid cash for mine at 6,200.00 but that was in Mexico and not in the States. I think the cheapest I have seen it for cash price is 10,000 but the hospital in my City at their bariatric center charges 23,000 for lap band.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
