stuck- call after hours dr or wait until morning>???

Recommended Posts

I was banded on May 30. I had my first fill on Friday. I have had no problems. I tried to eat just the roast beef from Arby's (no bread) 5 hours ago and have not been able to keep Water down since. My chest is tight and achy. Has anyone had this problem before? Is it something I should call the after hours dr for or is it ok to wait until tomorrow during business hours?

Stuck is yucky! I am not sure what they would do for you at the after hours emergency. Probably advise you to try pineapple juice to make it go down or come up. Anyway, glad you feel better! Roast beef, steak, etc.. is the worst meat you can eat, it is hard to chew up and digest. My surgeon suggests staying away for red meat. I had my 1st stuck episode and then very bad pb'ing after eating roast beef. Yucky!!! Good luck, Karen

Thanks for the replies. I was freaking out a little bit. I PB'ed at least 15 times and my chest hurt so much. I thought I had slipped my band. I thought ARby's would be ok because it is sliced so thin but I was wrong....

Glad to hear you are ok !!! next time, if ther is one, lets hope not =) but i would def call my Dr or the after hours number, i had my first stuck, and threw up one to many times and slipped my band, and had to have emergency surgery to repair it, throwing up is very dangerous, u may need a slight unfill, after fills u cant always eat things u could b4.

Glad u are ok !!! keep up the good work and chew chew chew chew, try to remember ur stoma is like a funnel, and the hole at the end of your funnel is the size of your pinky, thats the room u have for things to pass through~

Ooooooooooooops. I forgot to mention that you should be on all liquids today and mushies tomorrow so that if you're swollen it will go down.

Take care.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
