What size do you need???

I have a bridesmaid dress that I never got to wear and it is just gorgeous. I could mail it to you and you can see if you like it? It is a halter dress... I will find a picture online ... It was from David's Bridal, and I wanted to wear it so bad!!!

Where can I get one in size Lumberjack? I need it by March. Ug.

Correction, you need an Amazon sized. Amazons are sexy. Well, Lumberjacks are sexy too, but in a differet, hairier sort of way.

I found Alight about 2 years ago. And the first order to them broke me lol. They had a TON of the big bell sleeve hippie kinda shirts that I loved.

OMG I was going to suggest Alight as well. That place is crazy cool!!!

I would try Dillards, they have tons of dresses on sale at this time, I bought a formal for my brother-in-law's wedding and it was on clearance and then had an additional 30% off, I paid $50 for a gorgeous gown. The selection was very good, give them a try before you go out and spend tons of money on a dress you'll probably only wear one time, cause if your anything like me, you wouldn't dare show up to another special event with a repeater dress.

Oh, have you came to the right place to ask. I LOVE to shop, and I had to have a couple of formal outfits for a cruise recently so I have found ALL the plus-size cocktail dress websites. I've listed them below. Good luck!

SizeAppeal.com As long as you don't mind sleeveless, this one is awesome.

Kiyonna.com This is actually where I bought one of my dresses. Beautiful!

Torrid.com Sometimes they have dresses, and if they do, they're cute.

Igigi.com Oh oh so pretty! This is where I got the other dress.

catherines.charmingshoppes.com In case you don't have the store...

jessicalondon.com It's either great or granny, but you can look.

elisabeth.com For the label concious.

Thanks everyone! I'll start tomorrow morning at David's Bridal, then Dillards, Nordstrom & Torrid since they're all pretty close to each other. If I don't find something there, I'll shop online. Not only do I need a formal, but the ball is Mardi Gras themed so 500 women are looking for purple, green & gold dresses. I'm on a mission for sure! I found a green velvet dress from last year's clothing exchange but I'm not sure if it's alterable, but it's not long, and I like the long & sexy dresses that Jenna posted.

The amazing thing about the green velvet is that it was my incentive dress. Nobody wanted it at the exchange and it was too small to zip on me. I tried it on this morning and it fell off! Woop woop!

Jen, it's for our Slumber Convention Mardi Gras Ball in New Orleans.

This is all coming in very handy for me, too. My stepdaughter is getting married in May and I need something that looks very "too young to be her real mother" and makes her dad wish we'd never split up :)

Hey there! You can try this website.. www.torrid.com ...they have a few dresses on clearance that are long and dressy. Take a look!

There is a pretty black one that is long and is pretty and not too pricy...around $120

Thank you, everyone! I can't believe my luck yesterday! I mapped out all the stores but was so busy that I didn't get to my first stop till 4:30 p.m. Lemme tell ya, David's Bridal in Vegas at closing the month before Valentine's Day was a hoot! I started in Alterations having the green velvet dress analyzed. They could have fixed it for $75.00. Then I tried on a few dresses of the rack. I'm writing from Heaven after ZIPPING UP A SIZE 18! I couldn't breathe in it, but who cares! I actually had a CHOICE of dresses, which is unheard of.

I selected this pretty 2 piece that was on sale for $99.00 from $150.00. They didn't have pens at the register, so I went to my truck and brought 2 huge fistfuls of my leopard & hippy Slumber pens, which they went nuts over and reduce the dress to only $53.00... fifty three!

It's an elegant plum 2 piece (floor length.) It's size 20 so the skirt is a little big. My arms will be completely exposed, which I've never done for a formal event.

I could never have done it without you all. I thought I'd be shopping for a week, so Penni, thanks for being first to recommend David's Bridal. The girls were awesome, and I was done dress shopping in 30 minutes.
