I was banded in March 09, I didn't loose as much as I would have liked but I found myself happy. My problem is that I don't get hungry. In the morning I am a little tight, Protein drink/slimfast got me going. I have become a coffee junkie so that's my start point. now. I am a late nighter and a late riser(10), my DH is usually fussing because 3 p.m. comes and goes and I still haven't eaten. I do about 4 cups of coffee and Water, but I just don't feel a need for food. HELP!

When I was loosing, and my band fairly tight, I had a protien shake each morning for Breakfast. I highly reccomend that. You should also be eating lunch, you want to keep your metabolism "revved up". How about scammbled eggs or tuna, refried Beans, chili, Soup for lunch. Something soft should stay down fine. Make sure you are getting all your protien in, even if that means 1 more shake before bed. I know its kind of counterintuitive, but I think you need to eat something through out the day. It may actually help you loose weight by keeping your metabolism high. Good luck!

You don't say what you are eating after 3:00 but eating too few calories can cause you not to lose weight. Even though you aren't hungry you still need to eat something to keep your metabolism up and get your Protein in. I have to track my calories daily to make sure I eat enough and I regularly eat Snacks (that I'm not really hungry for) in order to hit my calorie goal.

I have the same problem although I'm only 2 weeks post-op and I think my hunger will return. I do force myself to eat and I always drink at least one Protein Drink a day. So far when I eat, I eat something high in Protein such as bits of chicken or tuna. Anyone experience the lack of hunger 2 weeks post-op?

I lack hunger and I'm almost a month out. I struggle to get calories in but I'm still in the mushy stage so my choices r limited. I could easily meet my caloric goal if I ate crap but I refuse to do that.

I didn't have a hunger problem after surgery. I felt really lucky because it made it easier for me to work with the band. I lost weight, felt good and and very few issues. I can eat almost anything, even bread as long as I don't try to eat to much. I did have my Carnation Instant this morning, and I will try some turkey for lunch. I try not to eat just to eat because it gets me into trouble. My band is tighter in hot weather and some foods give me a little trouble, not getting stuck just uncomfortable after a bite or two. Last year I had to get an unfill, waited to long to go back and gained about 7lbs that I have been fighting ever since. I just have to keep my mind on what I'm doing so I am on track. I really thought that at 2 years I would have reached my goal. I am glad that I haven't gone back up to 200 so there is some happiness.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
