When do you think I will be in a size 14?

Recommended Posts

Its funny what stupid questions you start thinking of

So I started at at snug 18 at 236 weight. Right now I am in a snug 16 at 208. But I can button them and zip them up. So thats about 25 lbs for one size. I know that as you get smaller the sizes change at more of 10 lbs (right?). So I am thinking another 20 lbs, I might be at a size 14?!?

Its been so long since I have been there  I was kinda doing a personal goal and I would like to be at a 14 for my birthday in August. At my current rate, I might be at 185 or so by my birthday. Which if I remember correctly puts me in a size 14. I am about 5'7". Just wondering who out there is in a size 14 right now and how much you weigh. :)

Honestly it all depends on where u lose/ gain weight. One time I lost weight, I was in a 2x at a certain weight. Then I gained and all the weight seemed to go to my butt, so when I lost again it took longer for me to get to a 2x

This depends on your body shape and it's all about how you're built. My pant sizes have gone down from a 26 to a 22 over the first 20 lbs. My shirt has gone from a 26/28 to a 22/24. I think I'm ready for a 20 over the last 10-15 lbs I've lost though. I'm your height, 5'7 and now 237ish.

I am 175, 5'5 (I am actually exactly 5'5" and a half inch, so I never know whether to round down or round up). I am in a 12/10-- I was in 14's at around 200.

This just goes to show you that there is no way to tell. It depends on the shape of your body. I have a fairly hour-glass shape, but I'm slightly heavier on top (my dang boobs) than bottom. If you have a straight waist and carry weight low, then a size 14 will take longer.

Doesn't if feel GRRREEEAT!!!?!?!?!?!?

I'm at about a size 10/12. I'm happy, but would absolutely love to be at a size 8 no matter if I only stay there for a month! LOL I will be marking that special time with my very first tattoo! I think that's a great enough reason to get one and not regret it at the age of 33. :)

You'll get there when you do and still feel you have more to lose, but will feel great about doing it!

I still forget that I can walk into ANY store and shop! Ooooooh the variety!

Have fun!

I'm 5'5 and started at 255 wearing sizes 18/20 jeans and xl or xxl shirts. I'm now 190 and can comfortably fit in size 14 jeans, 12 if there is a little stretch in them and 10 if there is a lot of stretch. I shop at Old Navy a lot and their sweetheart jeans I can wear a 10, I tried on some shorts in a 12 and 14 and the 12 fit better. I have always been overweight so this is just amazing to me. If you keep losing at the same rate you should be in a 14 by Aug. GL (good luck)

I'm 5' 8" and, at 185, 14's fit very comfortably right now. I can squeeze into 12's but I won't buy any until they're a better fit. I have an hourglass shape, btw.

Great. Thanks ladies. I think I will be in to 14. I tried on my 16's again and I can probably start wearing them. They are not as tight now and I can bend iver in them :)

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

Iʻm roughly 6 weeks post-op this morning and have begun to feel like a normal human, with a normal human body again. I started introducing solid foods and pill forms of medications/supplements a couple of weeks ago and it's really amazing to eat meals with my family again, despite the fact that my portions are so much smaller than theirs.
I live on the island of Oʻahu and spend a lot of time in the water- for exercise, for play,  and for spiritual & mental health. The day I had my month out appointment with my surgeon, I packed all my gear in my truck, anticipating his permission to get back in the ocean. The minute I walked out of that hospital I drove straight to the shore and got in that water. Hallelujah! My appointment was at 10 am. I didn't get home until after 5 pm.
I'm down 31 pounds since the day of surgery and 47 since my pre-op diet began, with that typical week long stall occurring at three weeks. I'm really starting to see some changes lately- some of my clothing is too big, some fits again. The most drastic changes I notice however are in my face. I've also noticed my endurance and flexibility increasing. I was really starting to be held up physically, and I'm so grateful that I'm seeing that turn around in such short order.
My general disposition lately is hopeful and motivated. The only thing that bugs me on a daily basis still is the way those supplements make my house smell. So stink! But I just bought a smell proof bag online that other people use to put their pot in. My house doesn't stink anymore.

Oh yeah, something I wanted to rant about, a billing dispute that cropped up 3 months ago.
Surgery was in August of 2023. A bill shows up for over $7,000 in January. WTF? I asks myself. I know that I jumped through all of the insurance hoops and verified this and triple checked that, as did the surgeon's office. All was set, and I paid all of the known costs before surgery.
A looong story short, is that an assistant surgeon that was in the process of accepting money from my insurance company touched me while I was under anesthesia. That is what the bill was for. But hey, guess what? Some federal legislation was enacted last year to help patients out when they cannot consent to being touched by someone out of their insurance network. These types of bills fall under something called, "surprise billing," and you don't have to put up with it.
      https://www.cms.gov/nosurprises
I had to make a lot of phone calls to both the surgeon's office and the insurance company and explain my rights and what the maximum out of pocket costs were that I could be liable for. Also had to remind them that it isn't my place to be taking care of all of this and that I was going to escalate things if they could not play nice with one another.
Quick ending is that I don't have to pay that $7,000+. Advocate, advocate, advocate for yourself no matter how long it takes and learn more about this law if you are ever hit with a surprise bill.
