Stomach pains. Obstruction or band related?

Recommended Posts

I have been having these cramps in my stomach since last weekend. It kinda feels like a runners cramp that you get, but it is worse. Somtimes it hurts in my upper stomach, but then it goes to around my belly button area. I have a slight prolapse on the band since March, and I just got a small fill about 2 weeks ago so I thought it was something related to my band. Some days the pain isn't as bad, and others like today the pain is bad. It hurts to stand up straight and to lay down. The only thing that is helping the pain today is sitting up. I called my doctor, but he is out of the country until the 20th. I talked with the nurse because I felt my port, and it seems to have moved so I thought maybe that is what is causing the pain. She told me that the port can move after losing a bunch of weight, but I don't know if that is what is causing my pain or not. I did tell her about the pain, and she told me to monitor it and get back with her if it doesn't get better.

Has anyone experienced anything like this or have their port move or had this kind of pain? I just took some milk of mag. to see if I can go to the restroom since I haven't been using the restroom all that well. I don't know what to do, and I am worried. I might need to call my regular doctor since my band doctor is out of the office.

I know this is a little late, but I was just wondering how the pain situation panned out. For the last several months, whenever I ate way more than I should, I'd get pain in my stomach, similar to what you described. The last two weeks, the pain occurs whenever I eat solid foods. I stuck mostly to liquids last week hoping that it was just swelling that would go down if I gave it some time. It hasn't really worked though. I'm planning on calling my dr's office Monday morning, but I was wanted to get some insight from someone who sounds like they had the same situation.

I get pain in my belly button when I pb. It sounds band related to me, but of course, hope you checked with your doc.

I've had two small bowel obstructions this year and those are nothing like band related pain. Its deeper, cramping and it moves in waves from the left to right side of the abomen, with a huge build up of pressure behind it - I have a stoma and the pressure would feel like it was going to pass gas, only so strong that I felt like it was going to pop off and shoot across the room. Gradually these waves of pressure got more and more intense until you will be fairly ready to head into the hospital. Bowel obstructions are pretty unmistakeable, you'll know that when you feel it.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
