I am considering the lap band surgery but I am concerned about the saggy skin afterweight loss. I understand the surgery is to better my health and that I may be superficial to be concerned about the saggy skin. But in the decision we must always look at the whole picture. Has anyone out there had trouble with this?

Saggy skin is a risk when any type of weightloss is involved, lapband or not. So it's either be fat the rest of your life, or be in good shape with the risk of some sagging skin.

I'm 20, a size 2, and I have enough sagging skin to go around :) Does it bug me? Yep. But nothing that plastic surgery can't fix. Besides, I'd much rather be able to run for miles and miles, walk up stairs without being winded, and actually get compliments everyday about being a "skinny b***h" opposed to being fat again, but that might just be me. The skin is worth it.

I have to admit I hated my body morbidly obese and now I still hate my body in a size 4 because of the saggy skin. Trying to find shorts and swimming suits that don't show my sagginess in my thighs sucks! I don't have money to get ps, so I am trying to work out now. I will try pilates or something.

you can always ask to see if you insurance will cover a panni, this is the removal of excess skin, some insurances will pay for it if you doc writes something about bacteria or infections growning under the excess skin. You would have to pay additional for a full Tummy Tuck and some surgeons will work with you to get as much as they can paid for by the insurance.

I'm about half way through my weight loss journey...do I have saggy skin? You betcha...but honestly, it isn't as bad as I expected. I didn't go into this expecting not to have saggy skin because I had been heavy for so many years but I think that exercise has helped the skin to not sag as much as I thought it would. In the end, I know I will have plastic surgery when I'm finished but even if I couldn't afford it I would still be happy because I am healthier and have a more active life than I did a year ago...

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
