I am new to the forum and considering lap band surgery. I am currently 34 and have been overweight for some years. I have PCOS since 2007 and weight loss has been very slow along with infertility. I am hoping that lap band can help me to beat the obesity. Does anyone else have PCOS and the band? Have you been able to conceive post Lap Band? Please share your success I need as much inspiration as I can get.

Hi Shrinking Beauty,

I don't know what PCOS is... but I have been extremely pleased with the results of my surgery. You should know that in order to have the greatest chance for success you will have to work hard.

The band helps keep you from eating large volumes of food and it does help reduce your hunger, but to do the best at this - you'll need to really commit to eating healthier, exercising and following your surgeon's guidelines.

I haven't even for a second regretted my decision, but just know that it does take some effort.

I am also 34 and have been overweight for years. I do not have PCOS, but getting the lapband was the best decision I ever made for myself. I am down 60 pounds in just about 4 months and feel so much better,. Good luck to you in whatever you decide to do!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
