Dr. Aguila is also my doctor. I had to do a three week fast which became a 5 week fast because I had to postpone my surgery, caught a nasty cold! I lost 22 pounds by the time I had my surgery and now I am into my second week post-op. I will be seeing the doc on Monday for follow-up. Am doing great and I really appreciate the fact that Dr. Aguila cares about his patients so very much. Yes, he is strict, but would you want a doctor who really does not care about his patients? You won't regret having the surgery and I feel that Dr. Aguila and his staff are going to be a great help to me as I lose the weight!

He is strict.... but he listens which I find paramount in a Dr. I just saw him yesterday.....

I am very happy he is my Dr. I love being successful for him... and me too. :)

He scares me. I feel like I can't ask him questions. I was a self-pay and didn't have to go through all of the hoops that insurance has to and I feel like I missed out on a lot of information about the band. I feel like the Dr. thinks I should already know the answers to my questions.

He is my Dr. as well and I am getting banded on May 10th. I am very unhappy right now on my 3 week Optifast treatment, but I am suffering through it begrudgingly :). I met with a lot of doctors before choosing him and I feel a little better knowing he used to be big himself. Also, the office staff are great and I love giving Tina a hard time!

Hello all I love him yes he is strict but that is because he wants to see you succeed. Don't forget he was once in our shoes as being overweight and that is one of the main reasons I decided to go with him. The office personal is nice and he will answer any question for you but you can't be afraid to ask.

Best of luck and success on your journey...

I had my surgery with him 6 days ago! I think he is great and I live the office staff as well. I have no conplaints about him personally. Only complaint would be having to travel so far.

I have dr aguila for my docter as well. I had my surgery April 2010. I have lost 90 lbs so far. I enjoy having this docter and he has been very understanding with any concerns that I have had. I would do this all over again with no regrets.

He's my docter as well. I had my surgery in April 2010. I have enjoyed him as well as his staff for the past couple of years. Any concerns I had they all seemed welling to help. Im very thankful that I chose him as my docter.

I'm doing great. I love dr a. He is easy to talk to if you try. He seemed a little intimidating at first, but he wants us to succeed and do well. He seems to have warmed up. Or it was all in my head that he was intimidating.

Wow I cannot believe this.... He answers all my questions including the dumb ones... I was self pay too and I didn't feel like I missed a thing. In fact I interviewed 3 drs before I settled on him.

I hope since you posted this your feeling have changed and Your weight loss is satisfactory.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
