Banded 6 days ago and I feel hungry and I am worried

Recommended Posts

I am only 6 days post op and I am so hungry. I am so jealous of the people that say they arent hungry. On day 3 I had some cream Soup and some bites of mashed pototos. I feel tight sometime when I eat or drink, but not full. Maybe this is the full feeling Iam supposed to have, not sure. I feel I could eat a pizza. I am going to stick with full liquids, but cant wait to add more food. Did anybody else feel hungry like this, I am worried.

Good luck to everyone.

Yeah, around day 7 my hunger came back. Once I hit mushy food I felt like it was better under control, but what you're feeling is called bandster hell. Hang in there!

I was banded on Monday the 25th and right now I could eat two horses. I have visions of Subway Flatbread sandwiches in my head. I have been good, mostly Clear Liquids had a couple spoons of a cream based Soup yesterday, about sick of these Protein Shakes. I am 8lbs down since Monday morning. Looking forward to the next stage.

[i'm on day 12 and at day 7 I felt the same way. Blended clam chowder but added more clams, crabs, and shrimp. It was blended well and tasted good. I find that my hunger returns after a few hours but meals are small.

I'm in the exact same boat in that I was banded April 26th with plication. Yes I get cravings for food but I'm not sure what is mental or physical. I'm on two weeks of full liquids and cannot have puree food until week 3. As hungry as I think I am, I'm sticking to the plan because my fear of the stomach not healing properly outweighs the attempt to eat something. I have a sugar free popsicle when the craving gets too strong. I so look forwarded to weeks 5,6, 7 when I can at least add some soft food. Good luck

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
