Thinking about the Lap Band

Recommended Posts

Well here I am. I have been over weight all my life. I am ready to be done with it. I have tried diets and other things only to fail a week later. I am terrified that I will not have the drive to do everything that is needed for this because I have failed before. What made everyone here decide to do it? Any advice?

I have been dieting since I was 11yrs old. Up and down, up and down with my weight. I was watching it go up again to it's highest @ 213lbs and I just felt like it was going to keep going up and if I didn't do something. I just knew I was going to be 300lbs if I didn't change. Problem was, I was always hungry. I could eat and eat and eat. I would wake up thinking about what I would eat for Breakfast. After eating a large meal I would want desert, a snack, and then I'd start thinking about what I was going to eat at the next meal. I never felt full. I just had no desire to even try any more because I knew I was going to fail again. I'd start a diet and then cheat and then fail. Etc. Etc. I knew I could diet if I just wasn't hungry. If I could get that feeling of satisfaction or of being full. And if I could diet and not fear putting it all back on. I also was afraid of getting anything cut, altered, re-routed, etc. If I had problems or regretted it or whatever it could be removed. Good luck on your decision. I am happy with mine.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
