Can I have carrots on the pre-lapband diet?

Recommended Posts

Just wondering, I was told salad vegetables and leafy greens. Are carrots okay? The office is closed that I use...until Monday!

I was told steamed green vegetables and one piece of fruit a day and the nurse said raw carrots was OK. Every doc is different tho.

Hi,

I was told to avoid carrots and potatoes on my pre-op diet. Each doctors instructions are different.

My surgeon was fine with raw veggies. i almost lived on raw celery, carrots & cucumber slices in rice vinegar & sprinkled with splenda!

I find it odd that some must do a liquid diet befre the lap band and others do not have to do one. I wonder what its based on. I am a self pay and my bmi is slightly lower than what the guidelines require but trust me I am obese. I think it is just my doctor. He has his reasons why he doesn't require it, but I just find this odd that so many doctors require this.

Raw carrots yes, cooked no. When you cook them it converts to sugar. Ration the carrots though... too many and you will turn orange. Been there, done that.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
