  1. Congrats on the weight loss and Congrats in advance on getting into your Grad Program. The Man upstairs has already heard and answered your request.
  2. Hi, I was also told I could take a shower the day after surgery. As far as being intimate is concerned just be careful. I was not given any restrictions.
  3.    chocolettebelle reacted to a post in a topic: "Stuck" on nothing!! HELP?!
  4. Congrats.........Wearing a smaller size feels great.
  5. I have the same pain and a tingling sensation in my left shoulder. After the food passes it lingers anywhere from 15-45 minutes. My doctor told me that it was nothing to worry about.
  6. Hi Amjcal, I have one cup of each morning. Most days I use the fat free creamer and on others I use the vanilla. It has not caused me any problems. Good luck Andrea
  7. Hi, I was banded on 03/31/11 by True Results in Richardson and my doctor was Richard Benevides. I was a cash patient and I had a hatial hernia repaired during the procedure. That portion was paid for by my insurance and I paid the difference. The staff at the main office, surgery center,dr's office and aftercare have all been extremely nice. I will say however ,that it does seem a little rushed sometimes due to the volume of patients. Overall I have been pleased with my decision to use them. I go for my 2nd fill this week. Good luck and best wishes on your new life!!!! Andrea
  8. Hi, I was also self pay because my insurance would not cover it. I used my FSA to cover the expenses. Good luck
  9. Guilty as charged , I weigh myself each morning. I admit that it was hard on me after I started on solids because the numbers were no longer going down daily. I now understand the fluctuations and expect them.
  10. Hi Stef I was also banded on 03/31. I have lost 22 lbs but I have noticied that it fluctuates. I have gained a few pounds back but I believe it is due to my cycle. I was afraid to start on regular foods because I didn't want the weight loss to stop. I have to remind myself that although I am back on soilds I am not eating half as much as I used to. I have no restriction in my band. I just stop eating I am never full just ok.
  11. Although I did not ask the question I thank you for answering. I am 17 days post op and I have been wondering about restriction. Right now when I eat something I cut myself off it is not the band. I assume when I get my first fill it will be different. The only time I feel over full is when I drink my Protein drink which is 11oz. . cadia' timestamp='1302993334' post='1601666'] Restricted - I can eat 1/2-1 cup of food (depending on the food) and not be hungry for 4-6 hours. Over eaten - feels like food is caught in my throat and I need to vomit to bring it up. Or feel like I need to. When I do bring something up, instant relief. Stuck - feels like a hard dull pain in my chest, a similar feeling to how it feels when you actually get something stuck in your throat, that all encompassing pain. Once it clears there is immediate relief.
  12. I am sorry to hear that you still do not feel well. I took my pain meds for the first 4 days and went back to work on day 5. At that point I was still having pains in my incision area as well as my left shoulder. I don't know what happened overnight but I felt so much better on day 6. It is a progressive process. I am now on day 17 and I have only have minor discomforts. It will get better. I wish you well.
  13. Hi Jackie, My surgeon did not discuss a goal weight either. We did go over the statistics that most lap band patients lose 60% of their excess weight. My initial goal is also 100lbs. At that point I will re-evaluate myself and set some new guidelines. I do know that for me it is more about how I feel and look than what the scale says. The scale has never matched my clothes size. Andrea
  14. Congratulations!!! Good Luck on your weight loss journey
