I am extremely excited about the band! I recently learned about it by a friends success. She has lost 80+ lbs and glows from happiness. I had a million questions for her and found out that several of our coworkers were also banded and are being very successful. I have my Seminar with Dr. Tiffany Jessee of Tampa/Clearwater, Florida. She is the Doctor I want to have my band done with. (ALL of the people I personally know either went to her, or left their other doctor to go to her.. so I feel really good about it.

My Seminar is on Monday April 11th and I am going to be Pushing paperwork like a mad woman to get underway asap. I want my new life to begin yesterday! Reading all the forums.. I understand it will be hard, its not a cure its a tool.... a very good tool... and that every bit of trouble seems to always have an agreement that it is worth it in the end. Good Health, Feeling good about yourself, and being able to live life to its fullest again is ALWAYS worth it for me...

Im Ready!!! Lets Go!!! ........ Im pacing for monday.... sheesh! .... where did I put that time machine??wink.gif

Hello and welcome!!! Good luck on your journey!!

Thank You!!! Ditto of course!! I went to the seminar on Monday and all went very well. I even watched a fill live and am rearing to go. The Suncoast Bariatric seminar brought 2 people to answer questions from experience (band patients) and it turns out that one guy came on his own to support his employee... he too has been banded and is very successful. It was hilarious to know I also went to school with his lovely girlfriend. Such a small world! It seems the band is everywhere I look now and it seems that Although there are still the "negative nellies" out there... I feel that the success and great life changing stories still outweigh the negative. (usually the negative are patient caused, poor after care, or bad doctor... or combo) Im just going to have to do and tell.

I've been thinking about doing a youtube video blog 1-2 times a month so that when people like myself are wanting to follow someones experiences... there is one more story to find. (There are so few out there that keep up with regular videos. Usually there are before and after, which are great.... but I wish I knew more about LapLiving so I can learn from experiences and avoid mistakes)

I pray Insurance a speedy response and that everything gets moving!!! I've researched, thought long and hard, listened to other people's opinions after they thought long and hard too, and finally came to the conclusion that good and bad was always ment with love and concern.

My mind has been made ..... so GO GO GO... cause Im ready! laugh.gif

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
