I'm with you. I was banded the same day and on liquid diet. OMG am I hungry, but I am refusing to eat more than 3-8.25 oz muscle milk's a day. I'm losing about a pound a day! Drink Water, lots and lots of it.

They want to give your body a rest, surgery is a big deal. Think of it as the soon-to-be-best-diet. (Does that make sense?)

Good luck to you!

I was banded on the 29th of March. Only supposed to have Protein Drinks until I see Dr. Owens in a couple of weeks. Very difficult to drink the full shake much less drink three of them a day. Plenty of fluids, like Water and crystal light are just fine. I just fill up drinking the Protein Shakes. I don't know if my doctor puts in any Fluid at surgery time, but definately can't drink as much as before the band. So many doctors use so many types of after surgery diets ! I was surprised that I couldn't have anythink other than Protein shakes and other fluids !

I was banded 3/24 and have lost 11 pounds. I wasn't hungry for the first 6 days. Now I am starving. It was easier the first few days when I didn't leave the house. But I went back to work 4/1 and saw people with real food. The Unjury shakes aren't too bad. sugar-free fudgsciles. Knowing I lost the 11 pounds really helps me keep going...

Hi guy,

I was banded on the 29th, a day after you. The first couple of days I felt so swollen that i wasn't hungry at all. Today I feel actually sick and dizzy and weak because of lack of food. I am drinking Protein shakes, Water, chicken broth and skinny Water. I have also been allowed applesauce although it didn't go down so well. I am relying on my own will power not to eat. That and the fact that after surgery our stomachs are still tender and swollen and we need to be careful.

I will be getting a fill on 4/27. From what I've read I'm not even really banking on the fact that it is going to give me the restriction I feel i need. That comes in time from what others who are further along have said. I am just taking it day by day and following the rules of the band. But I so know how you feel. Good luck!! We are both going to need it!

Donna

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
