I'm 7.5 months post-op so I guess it's safe to say I'm pretty much healed. I've always been very active when it came to working out although working out my Abs are my least favorite and hardest workout, but I would still manage to get through it. Well recently I signed up for a Spring Bootcamp Exercise program and of course we have to work on ABS!! I've noticed that on the very FIRST rep I immediately start to feel the burn!! When usually it takes about 20 reps before it starts to burn. And it's not my typical "workout burn" its almost an unbearable burn and its kind of embarrassing to me. I'm very competitive and the fact that I could not finish these abs workouts (Not even the minimal or modified versions) kinda pissed me off, but the pain was so bad. I guess my question is have anyone else ever experienced this??? Could it be my band or port?? Or could it be just the area that was operated on, like scar tissue or something?? This happened a couple of times but I never paid too much attention to why it hurt so bad & so soon...and recovering after the ab workout is painful anyway but post-op it sometimes feel like I've strained something near the area where my band is....I really don't know what to do :(:unsure::huh:

Hi,

You may have strained some muscle it sounds, however the abs get surprisingly weak if you haven't used them much in 7.5 months! I do my abs at least 3x a week and notice how quickly they re-build and strengthen. So, I would just take it really slow but increase your reps in small increments next time and I bet you will start to feel a difference.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
