full body lift?

Recommended Posts

ive been watching this show on discovery health like plastic surgery something rather.. any how.. there is apparently a doctor in pittsburg i believe they said that does a full body lift in one surgery...

ie, Tummy Tuck, boob lift, butt/thigh lift, inner thigh lift, and if need be the arms.

anyone know much about this? the ppl who have the surgery apparently stay in a hospital for a few days Granted, you have to meet very strict criteria to qualify for it (healthy etc)

im far from that part of my journey but curious at the same time. Ive thought about it a lot and the fact that i dotn want to have to pay for surgery 2-3 times this totally sounds like a better plan to me.

Muffinbirdie has pics posted of her post-surgery lower body lift. She looks wonderful! Mariposabella also had Lipo and other body work done but noone can get her to post pics. Coffeewench had a Tummy Tuck. Geezersue had her panni removed. Hmmm, who else?

I have seen these shows, too. The lower body lift basically cuts all the way around and takes away all of the extra skin. Huge scar, but hides much more nicely than pounds of extra skin and fat.

I would much rather have it all done at once and only have one hard recovery time than have multiple surgeries and multiple hard recovery times. I do wonder though if having it all done at once means less total work. ie. legs are still giggly, belly isn't as fat, things like that.

Maybe ya could just get them to put you into a coma for a week to recouperate.

That would be cool, wouldn't it?

I purposely had foot surgery 2 days after my eyelid surgery since I was already confined to bed and on painkillers. It worked out great.

The doctor in Pittsburg that does the total body lift is Dennis J Hurwitz, M.D., F.A.C.S. He wrote a book called Total Body Lift which is very informative. I haven't had the lift yet as I am just starting my weight loss journey but I am already doing all the research I can on this surgery because when I have it I want the best doctor possible.

Anyway his website is http://www.hurwitzcenter.com/

Yeah but Aleandra...was there a time you could not even think of going through something like having the LapBand put in? LOL B) I just look at my body and the way it already sags...I know if I ever want to be hot again, I am going to have to take a lot of skin off. Plus, it is just not healthy to have too much skin weighing you down after WLS.

I will say that before having my children I would have been scared off of even such minor surgery as banding. I'd only had one minor surgical procedure before (a biopsy) and the whole idea of general anaesthesia terrified me. After having kids, though, I had a whole new appreciation of what my body could endure. :)

Maybe if I had more sagging skin I might think about it differently. But even with batwings and boobs down to my navel I have absolutely no desire to have plastic surgery. Ever.

Surgery to save my life? Sure. Surgery to make me hot? No way.

The only thing I can see myself possibly having is my panni removed. That really bothers me but I would wait until I am at goal weight or close.

I'm all for plastic surgery! But personally, I wouldn't want to go through the recovery of a full body lift. I don't even want to imagine it! But, that is a personal choice for everyone to make. If you think you can handle the recovery, then you have my respect!! LOL

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

Iʻm roughly 6 weeks post-op this morning and have begun to feel like a normal human, with a normal human body again. I started introducing solid foods and pill forms of medications/supplements a couple of weeks ago and it's really amazing to eat meals with my family again, despite the fact that my portions are so much smaller than theirs.
I live on the island of Oʻahu and spend a lot of time in the water- for exercise, for play,  and for spiritual & mental health. The day I had my month out appointment with my surgeon, I packed all my gear in my truck, anticipating his permission to get back in the ocean. The minute I walked out of that hospital I drove straight to the shore and got in that water. Hallelujah! My appointment was at 10 am. I didn't get home until after 5 pm.
I'm down 31 pounds since the day of surgery and 47 since my pre-op diet began, with that typical week long stall occurring at three weeks. I'm really starting to see some changes lately- some of my clothing is too big, some fits again. The most drastic changes I notice however are in my face. I've also noticed my endurance and flexibility increasing. I was really starting to be held up physically, and I'm so grateful that I'm seeing that turn around in such short order.
My general disposition lately is hopeful and motivated. The only thing that bugs me on a daily basis still is the way those supplements make my house smell. So stink! But I just bought a smell proof bag online that other people use to put their pot in. My house doesn't stink anymore.
