Obesity is a disease......

Recommended Posts

Obesity is a disease, an incidious addiction, that can enslave you physically and psychologically. It is not about losing x amount of kilos and then everything will be right with the world. You have to fight the disordered thoughts about food and eating for the rest of your life if you have a predisposition to this particular addiction.

I lurk on this board often, but never post. I am going to have the procedure when I can overcome my fear of it. I am scared that I will get an infection that will kill me.

I have to have the surgery as I have a disease in my nervous system that will make mobility hard as time goes on.

I admire you all so much. Keep up the fight. Susannah

The fear starts to go away as you begin to long for the things it will make better. I fell in love with the hope, then I wasnt scared anymore. You know that I really felt good about it? I was on my way to getting banded!

Just keep reading and studying everything you can on the surgery. We have tons of information right here on LBT, go back and read all the old threads as well as the new ones. When the time is right for you, you will know it. We all have some fear about surgery, that is only normal. Good luck!:)

I'm so sorry you have MS. MY Dad had it and I know how painful it was for him..(((hugs)))

I had the surgery on 9/26 so only 3 months ago. I feel so much better physically. The mental stuff is the harder stuff, thats for sure. But with Faith, and support it can be done. It is not always easy, but when you begin to feel physically better it sure helps!

Good luck to you

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
