Fill question..is this normal?...Help?

Recommended Posts

I had my 2nd fill 3 days ago. I stayed on the liquids for a day and then slowly am trying to add soft foods. I can eat an entire yogurt, no problem . Earlier today I had a protien shake and could only drink about 3 ounces. I figured maybe I was still full from the yogurt (2.5 hours before)Tonight I tried to eat some scrambled eggs and got about 3 very small bites down, I felt horrible, it felt like something was stuck, then some came back up. I am wondering if I am too full, did I eat the wrong thing, did I eat too fast? or maybe I just need to take more time with the liquids. Is this normal? Any responses would be greatly appreciated.

It's only been a few days, you may still have some swelling from the fill. Maybe try going back to mushies for a day or 2, then start with solids again slowly and chew, chew, chew very small bites. It's a whole new way of eating your food with the band. I'm still learning every day. Some days are better than others. Yesterday I was able to eat Ok - no pain, small amounts....but today has been very difficult - a lot of pain on VERY little food.....Each day is a little different and for me, I just take each day at a time. I'm praying for a good day tomorrow, cause I'm hungry!

Also, make sure you're able to get your Water in or call your doctor because you can get dehydrated very quickly and if you PB it's important to do liquids the rest of the day and sometimes even the next day to allow the swelling to go down from being irritated.

Good luck in finding what works for you!

eggs are very touchy for some bandsters. A lot of people just can't eat them without getting stuck. I learned the best way for me to eat eggs is to fry them easy over, then cut them up with the runny yolk coating them. I don't have a problem this way.

Thanks you guys. I have loosened up a bit. I think that I will get wait a bit for eggs. I guess this is a learning process throughout the entire time.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
