Curses foiled again..........aaarrrrrrrgh!!!!

Recommended Posts

I got my band Jan 10th and have been doing great. I am into mushy foods and other than a little incident with tuna salad have had no problem. Won't be having tuna salad for a looooong time..lol. My list says boiled, moist really well cooked meat. I was on an archeological dig of my freezer and came across a pot roast. I'm thinking crock pot for hours equals moist and juicy. So I nestled it down in the crock pot with a ton of carrots and a couple of small potatoes and flipped the switch. Hours later after smelling it and driving myself crazy it was falling apart. Got myself a small piece cut it up really good put plenty of juice on it and took a small bite. It was sooooooooo good. I really enjoyed it for the brief time I had it...aaaarrrrrrgh. I can mash the carrots and potatoes and eat them but not the meat .......sniffle sniffle whine. Took most of it over to my elderly neighbor and froze the rest....sigh maybe someday. Oh well it's a learning experience, it's a learning experience.... repeat after me it's a learning experience...lol. crying2.gif

I did make a pot roast about 3 weeks out of surgery. Mine was juicy too, but I still took it all and whizzed it in the mini food processor. Then I poured on a little gravy.

Still tasted YUM, but the fibers in the meat were broken down way more.

I also got my band on the 10th and I'm on soft foods this week. I was told to eat only canned meats because they are soft and wet. My son made a big pot of chicken Soup and picked the chicken meat and put it back into the soup. I was able to eat that but I haven't eaten any real meat. I figure if it's not on the list for the week there's gotta be a reason.

I made slow cooker pot roast tonight and had some issues with it. It didn't get stuck, but I felt it for sure.......not pleasant but not unpleasant either.

It was moist but......I may not try it for a while.

people tolerate different foods. I cannot tolerate beef period. Everything else I have not had a problem with as long as it is moist and fairly tender. The exploration continues on!;)

I got banded on the 11th and since then have been experimenting with various soft foods and meats. Some things go down better than others and boy does my stomach let me know when it doesn't like something. Just taking it one day at a time : )

I was banded the 10th as well and made pot roast about 2 nights ago... no problems with it. In fact, the only thing that HAS given trouble (that I've tried) are my Vitamins. I almost wish I had a negative reaction so I wouldn't want to eat it!! I have lost a taste for certain foods, but that's about it. I've been fighting to maintain the 20lbs I've lost thus far, and it's not easy. Don't get a fill for another 2 weeks- aack! It's really weird; sometimes I feel like there's nothing in there and other days I eat a half a cup of food and I'm stuffed. I don't get it. Ready for the ball to start rolling again...

I wouldn't give up on not being able to eat pot roast just yet. Might have been too soon for your stomach...still healing and all that. If it's anywhere near as good as it sounded just reading about it, i would try it again in the future just to be sure it's off limits. You might get a pleasant surprise.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
