Hair Loss Horror!!!!!!

Recommended Posts

I was going through the same thing about a month ago and while I haven't really changed my diet (which is my New Years resolution) or started taking any supplements, I did talk to my stylist and this is what we did...

~ I changed the side that I part my hair on (which is where I was getting a bald spot)

~ I cut three inches off my hair (brought it to my shoulders) and layered it....this takes some weight off and helps ease Hair loss supposedly

~ I wash every other day, and condition every day....this helps keep my hair looking healthier

~ Avoid pulling your hair back and don;t sleep with it up in a band

So far it seems like the hair loss has slowed down. I really think that since I am 4-5 months post op I was experiencing the loss because of the anesthesia (someone mentioned this in another post).

I wouldn't worry too much....my friend went through this when she had her surgery and she is now almost 2 years post op and has a full head of hair!

Good luck!

Beleive it or not, I am a hairdresser who does help people with Hair loss for ALL reasons. Nioxin is great! They make a Vitamin that supplies all your

hair, skin and nails need to be healthy. Available at most salons that carry Nioxin. The Nioxin company has a web site you can go to or get a phone # and they will give you info about hair loss of all kinds. I am scheduled to be banded on Jan 19. I am a little nervous but looking forward to a new life. This life style is not that great at my weight.

Oh, and don't worry about being vain. I am not nearly as worried about erosion and slippage as I am about losing my hair!!!

I think it's doubly hard for us - who have never had great beauty except for hair and eyes - to know that one of our main points of vanity is going to deteriorate!! I mean fully 2/3 of the positive comments I have received in life have been about my hair. How could you NOT be vain?? lol.

Deep Cleansing Breaths... it grows back.

:]

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
