is single incision worth the wait and $$

Recommended Posts

Hello, I'm looking to get the lap band. I've been to an initial consultation with a local surgen. He said that I qualify for the surgery and my insurance will cover it, yea!! He scheduled me for further tests and told me that if all goes well, I could have the surgery mid-March. The program fee is $250.00, to be paid pre-op. However, I will have 5 scars because he does not preform the single incision surgery.

I would prefer not to have any scars. So, I contacted another surgen. This doctor is located 4 hours from me. He is the closest surgen to my area that takes my insurance and does the single incision lap band. His first available appointment is at the end of March. So, I wouldn't be able to have the surgery until late April or May. He charges a $2000.00 program fee for the first year. The receptionist would not tell me how much he charges after the first year, but she said the fee covers everything I would need in the first year.

Is the single incision lap band worth the wait, money, and travel time?

Any advice would be great, as I don't know much about the lap band precedure.

Thank you.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
