My baby utensils...

Recommended Posts

I have gotten so sick of getting stuck and vomiting and the only thing I can say the reason is is that I'm eating too big of bites and eating too fast.

So my solution....Baby utensils...

Walked into my local Wal-Mart went to the baby isle and found these cute little baby spoon, fork, and knife set...

I have been using them so far through out my dinner and not one stuck episode.. Yay Me!

My doctor's office suggested that and they have been great... I have a set in my lunch bag, a set at home, a set in my desk drawer at work, and a set in my purse. It helps me be prepared wherever I go. And mine are Disney, LOL!!!

That is a great idea Charmin!

Also, I was trying to quote you and I accidentally clicked the negative sign...not sure what it means and I can't undo it. :(

I got cocktail forks and demitasse spoons-it was all I could find at Ross, but they totally help! And, no plastic involved.

That's exactly what I got to use...keep one set at work....I like them so much better than the plastic toddler ones!! Makes me feel like a big girl now!!

I have 2 sets also. one at home and one in my lunch bag !! people at work make fun of me but every week when they see less of me they dont laugh as hard !!! :D

I also use baby plates to eat off of. a local shop writes on them and they are dishwasher safe. so around the rim of a little mermaid plate says one day I will be just as sexy !! LOL

I have a Winnie-The-Pooh toddler plate that has one bigger section and two little sections. I try to use that or a salad plate.

I have everything in small child or baby size. I use small utensils, bowls, plates etc. My co worker who knows I am banded laughed at first when she saw me using all this tiny stuff, but now she is used to it. Using normal sized things is weird now for me

Yep! I use them at home. Real forks are SO huge in comparison! I also eat my meals off a salad plate or a ramikin

Maybe I should try that, but only at home, I would be to embarrassed at work. I know I take to big of bites and don't chew enough. As of right now I have no fill so I have had mo problems getting stuck, but it is something I need to work on

I have been meaning to do just this! I used a baby spoon right after surgery for my yogurts and puddings and it really helped. I have been using a salad plate for my dinner plate and that also helps, but I'm heading to Walmart after work for baby silverware!

I always kept my daughter's (who is now in her twenties...lol) baby spoons and forks in the drawer to use for pickles, olives and cheese trays and such.... they are still in perfect shape and now I use them for eating. I do need to pick up a set to keep at the office.

I also use the tiny rubbermaid containers to bring my lunch to work and use the cocktail sized paper plates to eat on. At home I use a salad plate or small monkey dish to eat off of.

Whatever works is my motto!B)

My surgeon presented me with a beautiful silver baby spoon and fork set (along with some other stuff - Bracelet, pedometer, balloon) the day after my surgery, while I was still in the hosptial. He also gave me a crystal 4oz glass to go with it, so I can measure my portions. He is the best and I was his first!:D

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
