  13. During the seminar I went to, the doctor said more people died from NOT having the surgery (due to obesity issues) than the control groups that "needed" it and didn't get it done.

  15. I actually had a fill today, and sometimes I get the pain as well. Are you only on liquids? I tend to swell so I do all liquids for a couple days afterwards.
  16. You shouldn't have the surgery unless you're 100% and have all the information It sounds cheesy, but it really is a commitment to a weight loss journey and it will work for you if you work for it. Which means, eating the right foods (which you will learn about). You will definitely count calories and protein and some foods won't work. If you can accomplish the same results without it, perhaps you don't need it? Just something to think about

  18. It is definitely hard! But keep the end result in mind, this part is only temporary. You can do it!

  21. I can do a whole chicken breast but it has been about 8 months since I've had a fill. I'm thinking I'm due for one though

  27. Hmmm, on average maybe 2-5 times a week. Sometimes it's minor, sometimes I just can't stand it. I do the heat pad too, and I cook healthy all the time. I'm thinking some foods just make the gas worse, if that's what it is.
  28. I'm 2 years post banding and still get the shoulder pain. I'm so sick of it :/ I'm going in to talk to the doctor about it at the end of the month.
  29. I have type one diabetes and if you do a search I've posted my experience and what to expect. In a nutshell, she needs to talk to her endocrinologist. I did a trial run, pretending I had surgery and living off of what I would be drinking so I could get an idea of my sugar levels. The pre op diet will help with that! She will also be dropping her rates significantly and my endo had me running a bit high to avoid lows in the beginning.
  30. How much weight did you gain? I gained a pound in a month and still got a fill.
  31. Yes people are very ugly about it sometimes! I agree with others, you don't need a "friend" like that. I have run into people like that as well, but I wasn't so lucky as to have it told to my face. I had an overweight acquaintance(definitely NOT a friend), tell my friend she doesn't understand why I don't "just go to the gym". But to me, she acted supportive. I began by telling almost everyone, and now I keep it to myself. I simply don't have time for the drama that can come with it.
