Type One Diabetic
I have type one diabetes and if you do a search I've posted my experience and what to expect. In a nutshell, she needs to talk to her endocrinologist. I did a trial run, pretending I had surgery and living off of what I would be drinking so I could get an idea of my sugar levels. The pre op diet will help with that! She will also be dropping her rates significantly and my endo had me running a bit high to avoid lows in the beginning.

Hoping For A Fill
How much weight did you gain? I gained a pound in a month and still got a fill.

Disapproval From Others.
Yes people are very ugly about it sometimes! I agree with others, you don't need a "friend" like that. I have run into people like that as well, but I wasn't so lucky as to have it told to my face. I had an overweight acquaintance(definitely NOT a friend), tell my friend she doesn't understand why I don't "just go to the gym". But to me, she acted supportive. I began by telling almost everyone, and now I keep it to myself. I simply don't have time for the drama that can come with it.

7 Mo. Post Op With 1-2 Lb Per Week Loss / Head In Weird Place
My doctor told me 1-2lbs a week is where they want me to be. Keep in mind this isn't the get rich quick schemes of the dieting world. Some people will lose faster and others will lose slower. You are not in comptetition with them but rather changing your life, your lifestyle, your whole outlook on eating.

Pain When Taking A Deep Breath
IMO yes. I had the same symptoms and I could barely keep water down. Eventually I had blood laced vomit and I had all the fluid taken out of my band and given time to heal. I had the option to take some or all of it out, but I wanted to give myself time to heal. I just got 2cc's put back in yesterday and I'm doing great.

Can 1 Cc Really Make That Much Of A Difference?
Absolutely. .5 made me swell so much I couldn't keep liquids down.

Did My Band Slip?
You probably need to go get some fluid taken out of your band. Either way, seek medical help ASAP.

I Got Unfilled Today...

I Got Unfilled Today...
I hadn't had a fill since July and I was optimized. I was going in for my 1 year check up and considered a fill because I only lost 7lbs since August. My appetite had gone up, but probably not enough to need a fill, I just wanted it. I got a .5ml fill on Wednesday and since I had to get some of my fill taken out before, I took it slow and did all liquids until Friday. It was difficult keeping down even the clear Soups and liquids but I thought the swelling would go down. I had some Soup with little pieces of corn on Friday evening and PB'ed. Saturday morning, I could barely keep Water down so I called the surgeon and he met me in ER and took out all the Fluid in my band. I'm almost at my 1 year mark so I'm kicking myself for getting a fill. I was losing and maybe not at the pace I wanted but now I have to start over, fill wise. I'm hoping my story can help encourage you to take it slow.

Help!! I'm Eating Way Too Much!!
I agree with others. For me, I would at some times gain a couple pounds here and there. But, if you look at your weight loss on a graph, the trend is generally going down. Keep in mind that like everyone says, it really is a journey. There have been a couple months where I only lost 2 pounds the whole month! I was discouraged but just kept doing what I was supposed to and focused on adding exercise. Don't let this little bump in the road let you lose your focus! You will lose the weight, the lap band will work for you!

What To Eat/drink Before And After Workout?
I usually have a protein drink right after working out to help curb the hunger I get. I used to drink it before because I thought I should, but I haven't noticed a difference in drinking afterwards.
