Should I feel my Port when Pregnant

Recommended Posts

I am now 12 weeks pregnant and seem to be getting a belly ( First pregnancy I am new to all this) and for some reason I can feel my port now. when I am rubbing my stomach. Is that normal??? Should I be feeling it without pressing?

i talked to my OB about this and she said everything is fine, she said my pregnancy should have no effect on the port hole- but it does protrude and feels weird! I am 29 weeks and i feel it all the time! I plan on having my surgeon check it out right after the baby is born, but from what I read on here- it is normal.

Good Luck with your pregnancy!!

Thank you so much for replying!!! This site is great! I got my band in August 2009, found out I was pregnant in December 2009. I was shocked! So many questions are being answered on this site :)!

you are so welcome! This is my first baby and i get so nervous about band stuff. There arn't a lot of resources for pregnant bandsters out there! I was watching youtube and there is a girl who does a video on what it is like to be pregnant with the band- it was VERY helpful- her name is "swish"- check it out, it will make you feel so much better about the port!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
