Its not laughable at all! My dietician suggested it.... I didnt try it... I was happy to drink V8 juice, eat mashed carrots and peas but if it works for you... go for it!

My doctor adviced against this. Would rather me process real food with chopper or food processor. I can't even imagine eating baby food :(

ChopswyfT, it could have been that they don't want someone having a lot of salt and sugar. Keeping in mind I don' have kids and have never bought babyfood. I'd bet that you could find "crunchy granola" baby food that has no salt or sugar.

I blended my own foods. I had some meatballs in the freezer and they were great blended with some added gravy. I added a scoop of Protein mix to oatmeal and cream of wheat. You will need some creativity to get through this stage.

I bought the gerber bananas because I need the extra potassium! But I would rather do my own mushies. baby food isn't really very tasty.

pureed grown up food isn't as bad as it sounds. It honestly wasn't that difficult to get through that phase for me. Pureed Soup tastes like the original soup only less chewing...chili is FABULOUS. I make my own black bean chili and it was the one thing I couldn't wait to eat once I was allowed to move on to pureed foods.

I ate mostly pureed "regular" food during that stage, but did have some baby food fruits and veggies on hand to take to work for lunch if I hadn't had time to puree my own... heck, I used to eat baby food in High School for a snack after school before ball games!!!:P

I just got the fruit baby food. Apples and cherries were extremely delicious. The other ones I got are going to the food shelf because it was just too weird to try them. I know they will go better use there.

I was initially grossed out at the thought of blending food and actually eating it. But, by the time I hit that stage---I wanted flavor!!! And it wasn't that bad! I pureed some chicken with gravy; meatballs---stuff like that.

I am at this stage right now and to me it was easier the liquid part because it was no liquid and no cretivity. I have been eating greek yogourt with 14gm of Protein, smash or puree Beans, riccotta cheese, I have blended regular food and it's not that bad. I have another week to go and then I will move in to soft food.

I didn't try it, but it was in my program too. I just ate mushy things like tuna, didn't feel I needed baby food.< /p>

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
