I heard that chewable papaya enzymes help with digestion. I finally tried it and it works. I had an uncomfortable minor 'stuck' episode yesterday and started chewing one of these things.. and it helped alleviate the problem.

Just thought I'd let others know in case you'd like to keep these on hand. They don't taste bad, either. B)

I wish my surgeon allowed those. It would alleviate some of my fear about getting stuck. She told me that she doesn't want me adding anything on top of something that's stuck. I hear they work but, in her eyes, it's a no-no.

My first fill is scheduled for 1/4/12. The doctor told me to go back to Protein Shakes for the day of the fill and the day after. If they are tolerated, go to mushies for a day, then back to my regular diet. After you have recovered and get your fill back, try liquids for at least the day of the fill to allow your tummy to adjust to the tighter band.

jane, your band was too tight, that is why you got stuck and could not get food down. You need to go back to your surgeon and they will put maybe 2cc back in. It may take a few fills to get you where you need to be. I had 3cc put in my band on first fill, today feels like there is NO restriction at all. Just dont get discouraged, give it TIME....

It may not have been that the 3ccs were too much for jane, most banders are told to do Clear Liquids day of fill, full liquids the 2nd day, mushies the 3rd day. The reason for this is because along with the fill tighening there is also swelling so you get a doulbe whammy. Oh, and my center advises the same steps with an unfill too. As you get further along in your fills then generally don't need aggressive fills such as the 3cc's. And some people cannot take aggressive fills in the beginning of the journey-I am one of them although I am not new anymore.....I had a .04 fill and that was almost too much but then again I am over 4 years out. With all that being said....all doctors are different with what they tell and treat their patients.

the papaya enzyme is a chewable item. we can all have them without trouble. they would work the same as Gasx.

I felt like hell today, very sick, then took 2 papaya extracts from the Vitamin Shoppe for the first time and felt almost instant relief. I couldn't believe it.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
