Do you ever feel full in you BACK?

Recommended Posts

Okay, I was hesitant to ask this, because it sounds stupid. I was banded Nov. 15th and initially felt full in my chest area. I haven't had a fill yet and do not feel that fullness in my chest anymore. However, I have noticed that after a meal, I have an achey pain in between my shoulder blades in the middle of my back. Does anyone else get this? It's not a horrible pain, but I'm wondering if that's where I'm feeling my fullness for some strange reason. Anyone else??

Thanks for being brave enough to post that question! I was banded on Nov 15 also and have the same issue. Its not horrible pain but it is uncomfortable. I am going for my first fill on Monday and plan to ask the doctor.

If you can call it "pain", you might possibly be eating a tad too much. Try and stop before it becomes pain. It would be a good idea to consult your doc or nurse about it.

THAT being said, I do feel a weird pulling, stretching feeling in my back sometimes, but it's not painful and not related to just eating. I feel it sometimes when eating and sometimes after working out and sometimes just because.

The doc doesn't know what it is, but isn't worried about it since it doesn't hurt and my yearly UGI looked fine.

I have been banded for over a year and this is my signal that I ate too much. It is quite painful so I always try to eat slow. The pain doesn't come right away either, it is as the food settles in. I HATE that feeling.

Hokie, I was banded in June, and have had one fill since -back in August. I experience the same "discomfort" , and like the others-it is my signal that I have eaten too much.

I get that sometimes, and it's ALWAYS from eating too much. The first time it happened it was not right away...i was uncomfortable and thought it was just one bite too much. But as the food settled more it became so painful that i almost went to the emergency room because I didnt' knwo what it was. I decided to take a shower to see if it would help and just before i got in the shower, i ended up vomitting from the food being stuck..and INSTANTLY the pain went away. That's how i knew what it was from. It's happened only a few times in the last year and a half (maybe 3 total) but it's aboslutely a sign that you've eaten too much...HTH!

Thanks peeps! It's good to know that I am not the only one and that it IS related to the band and being full. It's hard when you are new to know what all the "feelings" are. I have paid closer attention and have noticed that it's definately when I eat too much or too fast. Maybe I will feel it in my chest once I have my first fill, but for now it's in my back and I DO NOT like the feeling. Too bad it happens a few minutes AFTER I'm finished eating!! Live and learn, right?

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
