On August 12, 2010 I contacted the Bariatric facility JourneyLite.  I have been researching them for quite sometime and finally decided this was the place I wanted to go to.  The people that I have spoke with were unbelievable.  They were so friendly and willing to help.  I had some questions, and they graciously answered each and everyone.  They also took my insurance information and contacted my Insurance as a provider to get exactly the criteria that I would need to qualify for the surgery and be sure it would be covered.  I had already done this but was looking for some reassurance.  The next day the lady at JourneyLite called me back and indeed I had all the criteria and should qualify for the surgery.  I was scheduled for a seminar on August 19 but the changed it to September 1 and will be able to fill my day and get as much done in one day as possible.  I will be traveling over 2 hours one way to get there and they did not want me to make any more trips than necessary.  So on September 1, I will attend a seminar in the morning, psychological evaluation, paperwork, meet with the dietitian and anything else they ask me to do.   As long as the insurance company approves the surgery I should have a surgery date and surgery by the end of the year with no problem.  I am so excited as I have been overweight for the last 16 years and have tried tons of different programs with little to no results and none that were lasting.  I am ready to change my lifestyle and start living a more enjoyable life!....................On September 1, 2010 I went to Cincinnati to the Journey Lite Facility of Dr. Trace Curry for a seminar, consult and Psychological evaluation.  This was an awesome experience.  I was extremely nervous about going since it has taken me so long to get to this step.  However once I got there I was worried no more.  All the people are super friendly and extremely helpful.  From the lady that walked us to the seminar, the girl at the front desk, to the doctor. I just can't say enough nice things.  The seminar was great, super informative.  It was given by Dr. Curry and he was very approachable and easy to talk to.  They had and actual lap band and realize band for you to look at and feel and answered any question anyone had.  After that I began the crazy test to see if you are crazy of over 300 silly questions.  It is necessary so I did it.  The Psychologist was an unbelievable nice man and was really nice to talk with.  I then met with Dr. Curry who answered any and all questions that I had and told me a about the surgery and the process.  After him came the insurance guru, these ladies are awesome as well.  They just go over the whole process of the insurance and let you know what to expect and that they are there to help.  Then I met with the surgical assistant who is also a nurse practitioner I believe.  She also went over the surgery and checked my overall condition at the time and was happy to answer and questions that I had.  Last but certainly not least I met with the dietitian who was amazing as well as the rest of the staff.  She went over some of her pesonal experiences and shared some things so that I would better know what to expect.  She gave me her card and encouraged me to contact her anytime with questions or concerns as I embark on this journey!  The people at this facility are TOP NOTCH in my opinion.  I am so excited that I have chosen to be their patient.  So right now as it stands I am awaiting the result of the psychological evaluation and then my information will be submitted to the insurance company for approval or disapproval.  I am hoping for approval but one never knows.  According to the insurance girl I should know something one way or the other by the end of September.  So now we shall wait..........
